Penny Black Saturday Challenge # 38

Good morning and welcome to another fabulous challenge on PBSC . There are some gorgeous stickeroos up for grabs for one lucky winner this week so make sure you visit the blog for more details. What is the theme I here you all ask .... looking at my card you might think it is glitter but you would be wrong!!! This week we want to see .......

SOMETHING YOU CAN EAT!

Well, that is easy for me, lol ..... it just HAS to be cake!!!! Even better is a cake just for one .......... mmmmmmm no sharing, lol! I have got my springburst papers out again, I really do like purple and green together, although I could not get a really decent piccie (spot the dodgy green tinge to the hair in this pic!!???!!) - roll on summer! I seem to have gone Papermania mad using the papers, brads and also this fab felt ribbon. The sentiment is a cuddlybuddly stamp which I have heat embossed with silver EP and the scrummy flowers are from Poppicrafts.

Found my stickles again, lol .... can you tell? Added a bit to the card candy, image and flowers (not responsible for the glitter on the purple card .. used some verrrry old glitterboard from The Range I think).

I hope you have a sparkly day and I look forward to looking at your gorgeous creations!

Stamp Something .... Brrrrrrrr

Friday again ..... thank goodness .... think I say that every week, lol! Well, my tooth is fixed and it didn't even make too much of a hole in my purse either so that is a relief :o) I think I should just be grateful I have a dentist - I know so many people struggle to get one these days.

Now, this weeks challenge on Stamp Something is a bit different to all the others that are going on at the moment. Many other blogs are getting you in the mood for spring but not us , lol ...... oh no ....... we want to see a cold, winter/windy themed card! I knew straight away which image I wanted to use but have to admit that I do not know how I ended up choosing this colour combo! Having said that I kind of like it so am pleased I tried it.

I have used BG and Laura Ashley papers - I really like the mix of the two papers - I hope you do too. Kept it pretty simple really although I have to admit I was tempted to add more, especially to the top right corner, hmmmm managed to resist though. I followed this weeks sketch on Papertake Weekly by the fabulous Dawny (luv ya chick) and turned it on it's side to suit the image better.

Flowers (as usual) from Poppicrafts and I have used one of my lovely new sparkly PM brads ... love these! Another computer generated sentiment, must admit I quite like doing these on the computer now I have some nice fonts :o) My final touch is oodles of glamour dust just about everywhere, lol .... well, poor little Tilda expects it now!!
Please pay a visit to see the rest of the DT's work and to see the fab prize by this weeks sponsor ..... Whimsey Stamps
Have a wonderful day ... not long til the weekend!

ABC Challenge - C is for ........

Hello and a good morning to you all. It is great to see you all again, hope your week is going well. Yesterday I was moaning on about my computer and today, well, I am moaning again. Would you believe I broke my tooth yesterday .,.... ouch - so it is a trip to the dentist for me today :o( I am gutted because I was supposed to be meeting some crafty friends today ... sob, but I am sure they will spend enough for me aswell!

A huge thankyou to all who entered last week, more and more of you are joining in and it is great to see. I hope you can all join us for this weeks challenge .....

C is for ....... A Child's Card!

Straight away I knew I wanted to use this fab High Hopes image (kindly sent as a RAK) - isn't he just brill. I really enjoyed colouring him and really tried to bring lots of colour to his big fat body, lol. I think I may have to invest in this stamp - perfect for all those little boys. I very nearly made it a pink and purple girly dragon ..... maybe next time :o)

Dusted these papers off from the back of my stash - they are by DCWV from the Retro Prints pack. I followed this weeks sketch by Friday Sketchers and it was so easy to follow - loved it! Just a couple of embellishments from my stash to finish it off ... easy peasy!
Wondering if it would be bad of me to have my usual starbucks and cake before the dentist, lol, who knows I may be numb for hours afterwards and I could starve!!!! Probably best to fill up first on yumminess!
Have a lovely day whatever you do.

Inspirational Card Sketches

Good morning, well you know that good luck doesn't last for long don't you .... my blumming laptop crashed again last night so I lost everything .... AGAIN!!!! Sooooo limited pictures etc until I get everything loaded back up again ... think I may just take it to be completely wiped and have windows reinstalled, might be for the best.
Anyways, never mind about that ..... we have a brand new sketch for you on ICS so pop on over for more details and to see the cards by the fab DT.

Just this poor little piccie from me today - managed to download it from my email when I sent it to Dawn a couple of days ago ....phew! Isn't this little guy so cute! Coloured with usual prismas and papers from a PM pack. Buttons also by PM (as perhaps the ribbon is too .... that may have just been made up though, lol). Flowers and button brad (Imaginisce) from the fab Poppicrafts! My sister had a baby boy on Sunday (awwww) right about the time I was making this card .... wierd or what!! Will see if I get time to make another card for her tonight ... otherwise this will be on its way - you would have thought I would have been more organised, lol.
Have a great day .... see you all in the morning for ABC Challenge

The range will be available to buy in March but you can have a look at it here on the Docrafts website. There are also some free papers and decoupage sheet for you to download too. Aren't they seriously cute .... I am going to have so much fun! Better go and get ready for work now .... I am floating on cloud 9
Have a fab day!!

2 cards for 3 challenges!

Charisma Cardz 'Hugs and Cuddles' & The Pink Elephant 'All that Glitters'

Good morning, well I did manage a lie in yesterday after my night out and yes, poor hubby got up ready to take Ryan to band but ...... it wasn't on because it is half term, lol - Poor Glen!! Never mind, at least Ryan remembered so they didn't leave the house or anything but Glen did wake me up to tell me .... hmmm I do love him really!
Ok, so here are a couple of cards for today. This is one for a lady at work. She loved the Valentine's cards I made her daughters and asked me to make a birthday card for a friend of her daughters. I have used this gorgeous Whiff of Joy image and gone slightly over the top again with my glamour dust, lol.

I have made the sentiment on my computer and used my nesties. The papers are some of my total favourites by Making Memories (hate using them, lol) and the flowers are from the fab Poppicrafts. I got the little heart charm from a craft show I went to in Doncaster last year (really need to buy loads of this sort of thing next month in Harrogate).

Cute Card Thursday 'Signs of Spring' & The Pink Elephant 'All that Glitters'

Here is my 2nd card for today and it one for a new home. I thought the Pink Petticoat image and colours would fit nicely with the theme on CCT and it certainly sparkles enough for The Pink Elephant. The papers were from a pack by Papermania and I got them in the sale a while ago for a really silly price - love a bargain! I don't often use yellows and orange but it was a nice for a change from my usual pinks, purples etc.

The ric rac is from one of the christmas ribbon sets that Papermania did a couple of months ago, always handy to have in. Now look closely ... yes .... peel offs!!!! Not sure when I last used them but again, handy to have in your stash. These little holographic flowetrs and 'dots??' were just what this card needed to give it a little more bling!
The sun is shining here and it is a gorgeous day - hope you all enjoy your Sunday :o)

Penny Black Saturday Challenge #37

Good morning, I have scheduled this so hopefully I am still fast asleep after a good night out last night and fingers crossed hubby has got up and taken Ryan to band :o) A big thankyou to you all for joining in last week with Nat's sketch ... wasn't it brilliant!
The theme this week is to make a get well card. Now I know these are not the sort of cards we really want to make but they can really cheer someone up if they are not 100%, even if you just have a sniffle it would be lovely to get a card to let you know someone was thinking of you.

I have coloured this little cutie with my prismas and made the sentiment on my computer .... was all I could think of to go with the umbrella, lol so you will have to forgive me if it is a little corny :o)

I have used the sketch by Debbie from this weeks A spoonfull of sugar , I do love my sketches!!!! Added the flower to the top corner because I thought my card needed something but not that happy with it now - never mind, that will teach me for sneaking little extras onto sketches.
Please check out the PBSC blog for details of this weeks prize and for all the fab DT cards.

Stamp Something .... 3D Somethings

Good morning my lovely blogglies, how are you all? Almost at the weekend and yes, another night out with the man in my life this evening :o)
Thanks to all of you who entered our chocolate somethings last week on Stamp Something , looks like you all like a bit of the choccy too! This week our theme is 3D somethings and is hosted by the lovely Alex .

First of all I was going to make a box and then I was going to get my scissors out and do a spot of decoupage. In the end I had a bit of fun with one of my Forever Friends stamps. I stamped it out a few times to create a bit of depth. I stamped the parcel onto the same paper by DCWV as one of my backing papers and popped it up with some foam pads. I also wrapped a piece of silk ribbon around it and created the bow on top of the parcel with the same matching ribbon. His little paws and also the gift tag have been 3D'd too although I may change the little tag to pink yet .... still undecided. When I know who the card is for I will pop their name on the tag or if it is a verrrrrry long name then perhaps just their initial, lol.

Added a rather colourful flower made up of blooms from Poppicrafts and finished off with lots of card candy. Make sure you check out the fab creations by the DT and I hope you can all join in the fun!
I am also entering my card in this weeks Forever Friends challenge - the theme is a general birthday card.
Hope you all have a great week!

ABC ...... B is for ....

Good morning, I would love to say woohoo it is my day off as I usually do on a Wednesday but ..... we have been so short of appointments this week that I am going in this morning to help out :o( Never mind, I am going to collect my super duper humungous desk for my new craft room this afternoon so that will be good!!
Onto this weeks challenge and do we have a treat in store for you all. The wonderfully talented Bev is our guest designer this week so please pay her a visit and leave her some love. I know most of you already know how brilliant her work is but if you don't ... prepare to drool at her wonderful creations.

BLUE AND BROWN

I just adore this colour combo and was in my element colouring this gorgeous stamp by Sugar Nellie. I have used papers from DCWV Blossoms & Butterflies stack and I really do like the bit of foiling in the corner - filled the space quite nicely. Another of my new Papermania sparkly brads holds my flowers from Poppicrafts, topped with my cuttlebug flower die. Another organza ribbon today from The Range - they have some real bargain ribbons :o)

Another look at my image and the foiled flourish. Thanks for joining us last week at the start of the new alphabet and thanks to all our new followers too! One final thankyou to Bev again for joining us as GD this week and for posting on her blog where to get a MSDP .... woohoo, I finally managed to order one :o) :o)

Inspirational Card Sketches #4

Good morning to you all, hope your week is going well. Thanks to you all who took part last week - are you all ready for a new sketch??? I hope so .... pop along to ICS for this weeks sketch and make sure you check to see who won the fabulous blog candy flowers from last week!

It seems ages since I inked up my beautiful Daisy stamp - I really do love her, isn't she gorgeous. The sketch this week is perfect if you love flowers - looks like my flower drought is officially over! I have flipped the sketch 180 incase you are trying to work out which way rouind I have used it - there are so many possibilities with it for images, sentiments and embellishment!

Here is a closer look at her - have used my prismas and sansador to colour, my long forgotten Amethyst floral print papers by Dovecraft - love the blacks and pinky purples, oodles of flowers from Poppicrafts secured with my sparkly new brads by Papermania all tied up with some Dovecraft organza ribbon. Please check the other cards by the DT, hope to see you all joining in.
Have a great day!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge #36

Good morning to you all and a Happy Valentine's Day - I hope you are able to spend it with the one you love :o)

Thanks again for all the wonderful entries last week - you all rock!!! Check back later to see who won last weeks prize!!

This week we have a fabulous Sketch by Nat for you all to follow. As you all know I love sketches, it takes so much of the thinking out of designing your card. You can flip it, rotate it etc but make sure we can see the original sketch and remember you must include one PB product somewhere on your creation!

Another male card from me and low and behold no flowers again!!!! Think I really do need to lay down in a darkened room as one of my lovely friends suggested last time this happened, lol. Struggled to get a decent piccie so will have another go later this afternoon..... done!

Check out PBSC for details of the fab stamp up for grabs this week and to see the great takes on this weeks sketch by the DT.

Have a day full of love :o)
Image coloured with prismas, sakura stardust pen to fish, papers from Dovecraft's 'Masculine' pack and Papermania's 'For Him' pack, card candy from craftwork cards

Stamp Something

Friday at last, I thought it would never get here and boy, am I ready for the weekend to arrive! The good news is that we have a brand new challenge on Stamp Something for you to get stuck into to. Before I tell you what it is I would like to thank you all again for taking part, we had a great response last week and loved looking at all your creations.
So, onto this weeks challenge ......

CHOCOLATE SOMETHINGS

Let your imagine go wild this week and show us all your chocolate inspired creations. I nearly came unstuck this week because I did a chocolate themed card a few weeks ago when I was a GD so really wanted to make something different to that.

I found a great tutorial on SCS and thought I would give it a go. I have used my new Smirk stamps because I have a special buddy in mind, and she could probably use a little bit of choccy too!

I have also used my new cuttlebug flower dies (well, just one of them) and I have to say I love it. Think it will look fab layered on top of my flowers from Poppicrafts etc so can't wait to try it out.

And finally .... the choccy piccy .... just enough to enjoy without feeling guilty .... if only everything was so simple. Although, it wont be simple to get it off the inside of the card - poor little Freddo has got his butt well and truly stuck down! Suppose it depends how bad you want that choccy, lol.

Make sure you check out the other creations by the DT - they produce such fab work, I am so proud to be a part of their team :o)

I have got this wonderful award from my mum (Nicola ) and also Susie . I would like to pass it on to everyone who enters this weeks challenge.

Have a great Friday - I am going out for a tipple or 2 with my beloved this evening because he is working tomorrow night :o( We were going to go for a meal but then decided to be party animals instead, one day I will turn into a grown up ... but until then ...... I am just going to have fun!

Wednesday 11 February 2009

ABC .... Let's start all over again!

Good morning, and here we are at the start of a brand new alphabet! Thankyou so much for all of you who have taken part - we would like to thank each and every one of you .... without you taking part each week we just wouldn't have this great blog challenge.

So let's get started again, right at the beginning

A is for Anniversary

We are going to be a teensy bit kind and allow valentine/love themed cards this week too, so you have no excuse not to join in. There are some gorgeous papers up for grabs for one lucky winner - check out the blog and DT cards for inspiration whilst you are there.

Now, I told my mum on the telephone last night that I had made a card without a single flower on it - I don't think she believed me, lol .... but look .... not a single bloom!!! I followed a great sketch by Katharina on this weeks High Hopes blog (obviously couldn't enter my card but loved the sketch so much that I had to do it!). I think this may end up being a card for my hubby - think he would appreciate the lack of flowers :o)

I have coloured, as usual, with my prismas, papers from BG Two Scoops pack. Made my sentiment on the computer again and have used these cute card candies in each corner of the image. All finished off with a pretty organza ribbon. This only took me about 2 hours - this is a quick card for me!!! I am really pleased with it - think it is the BG papers, they just seem to make me like my cards more, lol.
Being cheeky again and entering my card for a couple of challenges ... (well, I do miss out not joining in as much - would give up work but wouldn't have any pennies to spend!) ...
Dutch Dare ... Create a love themed card using no pink or red
Lili of the Valley ... Creations for men

Right, that's your lot for now. Going to spend my day off doing as little housework as possible ... as much crafting as possible and then try and fit a Starbucks and cake in somewhere in between!! Have a great day :o)
