Thomas tackles a few challenges

Good morning, just checking it is actually still morning. Woohoo, I have a whole weekend off but poor hubby is working :o(  ….. typical or what!

However it does mean I can do a bit of crafting and I have lots of DT work and a couple of orders to make so I should be kept out of trouble.

Today I am sharing a card that I made a couple of weeks ago for an old friend to give to his daughter. I don’t usually make specific cards for people to order because I am always worried they won’t like them.

It it yonks since I used a LOTV stamp, especially little Thomas but he is just so cute and easy to colour that I had loads of fun. It is also yonks since I used the word yonks rofl.

I added some little sparkly dots to the flower centres, always need a little bit of sparkle somewhere on my cards.

I found some lovely little organza flowers in my stash and couldn’t believe how lucky I was that they matched perfectly the ribbon I had already used. So they got stuck on as an after thought but I love them, must remember I have got them tucked away for future cards.

I wasn’t sure how the bunting would look when I had the idea in my head but I think it kind of works and is a nice little surprise when the card is opened.

Last pic, honest! Piccie of matching box. Now I have started decorating my boxes I don’t think I can go back to plain white ones. It just helps to finish it all off and is then a nice keepsake don’t you think?

Right, I need a cuppa – had a night out last night with some fab friends but it was a bit of a late night/early morning and I had only just finished my nights and was a little sleep deprived. I managed to dance the night away though – well, I couldn’t let the side down could I lol.

The Paper Shelter – Photo Inspiration

Good afternoon and here I am again, Wednesdays are a busy day for me lol. I am just loving being part of The Paper Shelter design team, I have found a new pleasure from my colouring again which is so nice. The images lend themselves to bright colours so easily.

We have a photo inspiration for you this week so please pop over to The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog to have a look and join in.

I had a hunt through my papers to see what I could use for the colour scheme I had in mind and found these Basic Grey papers that I haven’t used in ages. I usually chose my papers first before colouring my image, I find it works better for me this way and I am also more likely to try different shades etc.

The image is another of this months new releases and is called Spring Swing II and can be purchased from The Paper Shelter. I really enjoyed colouring her. The edges have been coloured using eye shadow – I bought a palette with about 160 colours from eBay and use it instead of chalks to add a touch of colour.

All finished with my usual flowers and pearls …..and some feathers!!!!! I meant to say that the sentiment is a die cut from Craftwork Cards and I have had it for ages.

The Crazy Challenge – Feminine/Girly
Cards Galore – Celebration
Sunday Sketch & Stamp – Sketch #56

Everything is Hunkydory

Afternoon, well here I am at last with a few cards to share with you. I am so lucky to be on the Crafter’s Companion design team for lots of reasons and I really do count my blessings. The other day I was sent some of these fabulous Hunkydory kits that feature the delightful Humphrey’s Corner. They are being launched at the moment on Create & Craft but you can also buy them from Crafter’s Companion website here.

Now I am pretty much a stamper through and through but OMG these are absolutely brilliant. The quality is stunning and the finish and foiling really gives a luxery finish.

It only took about 20 minutes to make all 3 cards – how good is that. They are brilliant for quick cards but you can also pinch the frames etc for your stamped cards too.

The final live show is on Create & Craft this evening at 6pm so be sure to tune in and get ordering!

Humphrey Sneak Peek

Hiya, sorry but it is a super quick post just now because I am about to dash off for work. I should have scheduled my post but there you go, I just wasn’t that organised.

Here is one of the fab new Humphrey stamps which are launching this weekend from Crafter’s Companion.

I love this little guy, I think we all do though.

He has been coloured with my Spectrum Noir pens. It is so easy to colour Humphrey and really takes no time at all.

The fab streamers are from the new Humphrey CD-Rom – it  is hard to believe they are printed – they look so realistic. I have also used my Epiphany tool to make the little buttons. Promise to add links later.

Right, I told you it was a quickie. See you tomorrow with more sneaks. On Sunday I will also be showing you a fab kit I have been sent to play with – OMG it is LUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Simon Says …… it’s sketch time ….and the cutest belly I have seen in ages!

Hi there, Wednesday already – I can hardly believe it … and over half way through the month too. This year is just flying by. Thanks to all of you who entered last weeks challenge on Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog – looks like we brought the showers along with the challenge. What a wet week it has been.

This week we have one of Dawny’s sketches for you to follow and it is fab!!!!! The DT are all using products by Martha Stewart and American Crafts so make sure you visit us and the main Simon Says Stamp Online Store for lots of delicious products.

I am still loving my new cherry blossom punch by Martha Stewart, think it is taking over from the lace doily one. Mind you, there are so many gorgeous ones it is hard to choose an ultimate favourite.

As you can see I am still mad about Kaiser papers too – these are just so soft and delicate, think I may start a little pastel phase.

Now let’s talk about cute. OMG how sweet is this Mo Manning image. There are loads of gorgeous ones to choose from at Simon Says Stamp Online Store. I think it is that big belly and chubby legs that I love. Oh yes, plus it is a fairy – what’s not to love!

Another angle to see some of the other elements. The jewelled brads are so pretty – haven’t used brads in ages so may start using these again too – I have so much stuff now but hey, I aren’t complaining ….. plus we also need more don’t we!!!!

Good afternoon, I am so excited to be able to share a brand new stamp from Humphrey’s Corner with you all today by Crafter’s Companion. There is a new release this Saturday on Create & Craft at 11am so make sure you don’t miss the live shows. There are 12 new stamps and OMG they are amazing!!!!! There is also a fab CD-Rom for the whole year crammed full of delish images, card companions, decoupage, toppers, embellishments and loads more!!!

Also a little reminder about the Crafter’s Companion Challenge Blog – our theme is four legged friends so hurry up for a chance to win – more details on challenge blog.

So here is one of the stamps – isn’t it just gorgeous! Sally Hunter has really outdone herself with her designs yet again.

I have used Neenah card to stamp on and my image is coloured with my Spectrum Noir pens. I still love the turquoise shades the best I think.

The papers are printed from the Humphrey’s Corner Crafting Collection double CD-Rom pack which came out last year from Crafter’s Companion. The sentiment comes with the image and there are a couple of other fab ones that come with it too.

Make sure you check the other members of the design team too for more sneak peeks.

The Paper Shelter – Buttons and Bows

Hi everyone, well I survived my study day and I am now home ready to unwind with a bit of crafting. I have lots of DT samples to make so you won’t see them on my blog straight away but the results should be up next week I think.

I have been itching to share my card for this weeks The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog with you all. It is not very often that I love my own cards but this is a real favourite of mine. It just came together really easily and so that is probably one of the reasons. I also love the papers and the colours too ….. hope you like it….

The theme this week is buttons and bows. I have so many buttons but hardly ever use them. I must start digging them out, I really like them sat on my bow like that. Typical that I have started buying twine but still failed to have the correct colour to thread a little bow through the button, never mind.

Another insert decorated ….. I am slightly impressed with myself – wonder how long I can keep this up???? I am totally in love with these papers – they are so lush ….. foiled and glazed, ooooh it hurt to cut into them I can tell you!

A closer look at the image – she is just great isn’t she. Love her grumpy face, bless haha ….. she is called ‘A Little Bit Grumpy’ and is available to buy from The Paper Shelter. I had lots of fun colouring her, this is why I like taking my colours from my backing papers, I probably wouldn’t have chosen these colours for her originally but I just loved the papers that I had to use them.

And look ….. even a box!!!!!! Don’t faint! This sheet of paper is so beautiful in real life, the glazing is stunning and has to be seen to be really appreciated. I couldn’t bare to cover it with any other bits of paper.

So thats your lot ….. remember to join in on the challenge blog for a chance to win – full details on The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog ….. remember you can use any image at all.

Simon Says …. April Showers Bring Spring Flowers

Good morning everyone, so sorry for my lack of posts recently. I have been on nights and then had a really busy day on Saturday travelling to and from London with a concert in the middle – a rather hectic 13 hours!!!! Anyway, I am here at last and really do need to try and post a little more often.

You can always be certain that I am here every Wednesday though because it is always a brand new challenge from Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog …… our theme this week is April Showers Bring Spring Flowers. Please feel free to interpret this as you wish. The design team are also showcasing products by Bo Bunny and/or Basic Grey. Check out the challenge blog for further inspiration.

I have coloured another image using very pale ink again to try and achieve a ‘no lines’ look – it is so difficult to do and really makes you think hard about your colouring.

I have been good and even decorated the inside of my card and made a matching box ….. How’s that for being more organised!!!!

I will try and get better pictures for you later

I am dashing off on a study day but should be back around 4pm so I will get my camera back out and hopefully the light will be a bit better.

Don’t forget if you enter this weeks challenge you could be the lucky winner chosen at random to get a $50 voucher to spend at Simon Says Stamp Online Store – a really great prize especially as they stock so many fabulous goodies.
