Birchbox Beauty Box Unboxing | September 2018 | On Top of Your World

Happy weekend everyone. How horrid is this rain!! I am not enjoying it at all. It feels so cold – I even had the heating on briefly last night. Yesterday my new Birchbox arrived to cheer me up. I have had this box on and off for ages and have a bit of a love hate relationship with it. It has been more love recently though so thats good.

If you fancy getting a box and are a new subscriber you can get £5 off your first box by clicking HERE. I also get a little freebie too if you use this link. my refer code is ‘ladymawa’ ….. birchbox.co.uk/invite/ladymawa

As usual I have filmed my unboxing so if you want to see my first impressions please feel free to watch my video.

Overall I was pleased with the contents, I am so happy with the blusher plus the other items all seem nice enough so I think it was a good month.

I am just going to take Glen out to my parents for half an hour bless him, cabin fever has set in. I can’t believe it is 6 weeks tomorrow since his accident. He is such a good patient, I feel so thankful he is still by my side.

Right, enough sentimental mush. See you all very soon, have a lovely weekend xxx

Seventeen Stay Pout Lipstick Review

Hi everyone and welcome to a brand new type of post for me. I thought it would be fun to review some makeup products and see if they do as they claim.

Whilst shopping in town i popped into Boots and had a browse around the different makeup. I have been looking for a lipstick for work that is long lasting so I do not have to reapply it. There are so many brands claiming to do this and it gets so confusing.

Anyway, I spotted a brand I have not used in years! And when I say years I mean years. I used to use this as a teenager because it is so affordable. Seventeen is still as good value as ever although there are even more affordable brands out there nowadays. Luckily Seventeen also has an offer of buy one item get one half price so it would have been rude not to buy something.

I chose a lipstick from the ‘Stay Pout’ range which is supposed to be long wearing. It is under £5 and there are 15 shades to chose from (but the shade I wanted was out of stock … grrrrr). I ended up choosing ‘Just a Fling’ which is a nice peachy nude perfect for daytime wear.

I have uploaded a video onto YouTube showing how it applied and then I did a few check ins throughout the day after eating and drinking to show how well it was holding up to it’s claims. You can view the video below….

I think this lipstick was ok as far as lipsticks go. It lasted fairly well but no where near what I was expecting. It was a nice formula and felt comfortable to wear however I think that it would need reapplying after 4- 5 hours. I would be happy to purchase again in another shade.

Tiny Treasure bracelet pattern review

Hi everyone, I hope you are having a lovely weekend. The weather is so changeable that I decided to stay in today and make myself a bracelet. It is my friend's wedding next weekend so I have a good excuse to make something just for me.

I had a look around online for a pattern that I liked and I found this pretty bracelet called Tiny treasure. The pattern is by BeeJang and you can find the link here.

I found the pattern very easy to follow. The instruction were clear and there are also lots of pictures to also help. I thought I would try some monofilament instead of my usual Fireline and I have to say I quite like it. i will need to wear my bracelet all night first before I decide to use it again but it seems very strong but also flexible.

The beads I used are 6x8 crystal, 4mm bicones, 6mm Swarovski pearls and 11/0 seed beads. I used a toggle clasp in bronze which goes really nicely with the beads.

I decided to make a little video showing how the light captures the beads. I think in future I will always do a video but will probably plan it a bit better. This was all very impulsive and not really planned at all lol. Anyway, have a look and see how lovely it looks compared to the still photo.

I hope you found this useful. See you again soon xxx
