Stamp Something / Just Magnolia

Good morning .... I can hardly believe what I am seeing this morning ... sunshine!!! Woohoo, not a cloud in the sky! It is about time we had a nice day for a change :o)
Time for a new challenge on Stamp Something and it is an old favourite of mine .....
Paper Piecing

We are sponsored by Whiff of Joy so I have used one of my most favourite stamps in the whole world .... isn't Melinda so beautiful. I have paper pieced her trousers and top and also her hair band and bobble with BG papers. I used some vellum for her wings but have to admit I prefer glamour dust for this so would probably use that next time. The yummy MSBP has been used lots and lots and don.t you just love these pretty Bo Bunny flowers (you can buy them from Dies to die For here )

I have added a little sparkle by using a pink sakura stardust pen for the little hearts and also the details on her clothes and bracelet.

I am also entering my card for the following challenges...

My time to Craft - Floral Frenzy
Whiff of Joy - Floral

Now for some sad news - this is my last week with Stamp Something. I can hardly believe that it is 6 months since I became a member of their DT. I would just like to thank Denise and Erin (and all the girls) for a wonderfukl time. They really are the nicest bunch of people in blog land and if you ever get the chance to work with Denise or Erin then grab it - you will not regret it!!!! The plus side is that I can now take part in their fab challenges - thanks for having me, it was a blast :o)

-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-

Friday again which means a new challenge on Just Magnolia and eek it is a real challenge for me .......

Distressing

This is the first time I have used core-dinations papers and I really like the effect from the sanding. I have used the fab sketch by my good mate Dawny over at Papertake Weekly ... wow no flowers from me!! This card also ties in with
Simon Says Stamp - Distressing
Scrappy Frogs - A Magnolia stamp (hmm that was an easy one, lol)

A closer look at the effect of the swiss dots folder on the paper and sweet little Edwin (he is always in the shadow of adorable Tilda ... bless). The gorgeous paper in the background is another beauty off the Bearly Mine Designs CDs by Donna.
Pop over to drool over the DT's creations .... stunning as always!

I have decided to go with the topical animal of the moment .... poor little piggy! All the papers and the image are available from the LOTV on-line shop .... aren't they just lovely!

A closer look at the cute piggy ..... looks like butter wouldn't melt, lol. On a serious note though if anyone s poorly with swine flu I hope you get better soon. Right, that's if from me for now - will be back in the morning with a couple of cards :o)

Wait till you hear this .... there is a brand new challenge blog due to start at the end of August!! I am so excited to let you all know that finally there will be a blog especially for Miss Anya and all her gorgeous friends. We are currently looking for DT members so why don't you pop over to Anyone for Anya and find out what you have to do. This is going to be so much fun, I think we all love these gorgeous images! Please become a follower - that way you won't miss a thing .... good luck :o)

Penny Black / Singalong Saturday

Morning everyone, hope you are all having a bit of sunshine this morning - it is lovely here today. We have a recipe for you all to follow this week on Penny Black Saturday Challenge.....

3 ribbons,2 flowers and 1 charm/pin

I have used one of the adorable images out of the Tiny Wishes clear stamp set. I found it quite difficult to only use 2 flowers this time but I behaved myself, lol. I popped a little ribbon behind my flowers instead of leaves, quite like the effect. Can you see my sweet heart pin tucked away at the top of my card - I really had trouble deciding where to put it (no rude suggestions please, lol) so it ended up there in the end.

I just love this cute hedgie, isn't she sweet! Yet more scrummy papers from BMD's Extreme Volume II CD and the gorgeous Bazzill card is from Tracy at Dies To Die For . I hope you can all find time to play along - remember to check out the DT's creations for more inspiration .... they are a clever bunch you know :o)

-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-

Another blast from the past .... anyone remember Transvision Vamp?? I loved their 'Velveteen' album and used to have it blaring - probably drove my parents nuts, lol. Apparently I used to look like Wendy James at the time (who knows, lol) so here is your song for the weekend - crank up the sound and enjoy!

Just Magnolia / Stamp Something

Good morning everyone, bet you all thought I had vanished for good, lol. I have a few days off work at the moment but I am so busy, I haven't had any craft time yet - shocking I know!!! I am going to make sure I set some time aside to play but also to catch up with you all, I have been such a bad blogger recently.

We have a fabulous sketch this week on Just Magnolia by our super talented Tab (who by the way has recently been added as DT member to the fabulous Magnolia ). It is a really lovely sketch and great for using up those offcuts of paper we all have in our scrap boxes. I am also entering my card into the challenge on SCSC whose theme is spots and stripes.

I have used more stamps from the summer kit - I really think this kit is just fab and I love all the stamps in it. The flower centres are cute little sparkly adhesive gems by Papermania and I love them!!

A closer look at the layers on my card. I used some gorgeous Bazzill Basics from Tracy at Dies to Die for along with the scrummy papers from MME Bloom and Grow pack that she sent me to play with.

Remember to pop along to see the rest of the gorgeous DT creations .... hope you can all join in this week.
-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-

This week on Stamp Something we have a real favourite theme of mine ....
Bugs, Butterflies or other winged somethings
I know you all have an image with some wings on so get stamping and join in the fun!

We also have a bit of DT news for you. Sadly the lovely Alex is having to stand down due to work committments - I will miss you hun! We do have a shiny new DT member though so I would like to welcome Janna to our team.
We are sponsored by Fred She Said this week and we were all sent these cute Little Miss Bitty images to play with. Isn't she just the cutest little bug, lol. I have followed this weeks sketch from Stamp with Fun - just love it!

I have had my fun flock out again for the dots on her dress and can you see more use of those little sparkly gems by PM. I really love the brads on this card, it isn't very often you can use black (well not for me, lol) so these were just what I needed for that finishing touch.

More stunning papers from Bearly Mine Designs - these are from Designer Extreme Vol I & II and also the Designer Inserts Extreme CD. As you can see they all match perfectly - easy peasy!!

Have a great day - I am off to meet a friend that I did my training with for a spot of lunch and a browse around the sales (well, it would be rude not to, lol).
Catch you all tomorrow

Penny Black Saturday / Singalong Saturday

Good morning and thank goodness it is the weekend. The rain has finally stopped and the sun is back out again. Thankyou for your lovely messages after my post yesterday - they really do mean so much. Mum doesn't want us to go up today, she is with some of her siblings and they are all looking after each other. I might just have to go up anyway tomorrow despite what she says, it is only a few hours drive and we don't mind at all ... will speak to her tonight and see how she is.

So here is my offering for this weeks Penny Black Saturday Challenge........ we would love to see you make something Soft and Sweet.
It is up to you how you interpret this, just remember to include at least 1 PB item on your creation.

I have chosen this super sweet image and coloured it with my prismacolor pencils and added a little sparkle with my sakura stardust pens. I have used these gorgeous soft pink papers from the Bearly Mine Design CDs for the front and inside of my card.

Another easy insert, Donna's discs are just fabulous! Please pop over to the PB blog for details of our sponsor this week and to see the gorgeous cards by the rest of the DT.

Now I really wanted this medly today in memory of my uncle Nigel but could not get the version I wanted (the one from Meet Joe Black) so opted for this one. There are lots of images here that are sure to remind you of things and people in your life. We are always wanting something but I would love for you all to take 5 minutes to be grateful for what you have already. Have a loving weekend

We have such a cute challenge this week on Just Magnolia , we would love to see you all use buttons on your creations.

I couldn't resist using my summer kits again and I have teamed it up with these gorgeous Making Memories papers that I picked up at almost half price a couple of days ago ... aren't they delish! I have followed this weeks sketch on the secret crafter, love it - so useable!

I love pink and orange together, it is so summery don't you think. I hope you all have chance to play along with us. Please check the DTs cards for some amazing inspiration.
Finally a sad note. My uncle passed away yesterday after a brave fight against cancer. He was my mum's little brother. Thankfully my mum managed to get a flight from Spain and was able to be with him. I would be grateful if you could all say a prayer for my mum at this sad time and remember her in your thoughts.

Just Magnolia Monthly Challenge

Good morning and welcome to a brand new challenge from Just Magnolia. This is our monthly challenge and we have set up a new blog to make it simpler to know which challenge goes where. Remember to become a follower so you do not miss a thing! This challenge is sponsored solely by Simon Says Stamp and each month one lucky winner will win $50 to spend on their website!!

The beautiful Rach has set this months challenge which is to decorate a brown paper bag. I must admit that I needed it to breath into first to stop me hyperventilating, lol. I eventually calmed down and soon realised that it is just the same as decorating a card .... phew! I followed the fab sketch from this weeks Friday Sketchers .... isn't it gorgeous!

I have used my fab new summer kit .... it is so delish, love every singe stamp! The papers were a freebie out of a magazine and I just love the fruity summer theme. My gorgeous MS valentine punch is making another appearance ... think this might be my new favourite (still love my doily though).

A closer peep and my little green fingered Tilda - she must look after her plants well to get a flower that size! I took my colour combo from the papers and think it is lovely. I am really keen on aqua at the moment - it is so fresh :o) The pretty flowers are from Dies to Die For ... scrummy Petaloo mini delphiniums aren't they just gorgeous!
Ok, better get off to work .... groan. Remember to check the rest of the DTs creations - they absolutely AMAZING!!!!! Have a wonderful day!
