Just Magnolia - A sketch

Hi everyone, I have made it to the end of the week and survived again .... who would work in healthcare at this time of year!!!

I am late again with my post for Just Magnolia - I had hoped to get it posted before work this morning but I was busy getting things organised for my son's weekend away .... I dread to think what a weekend of beer at Butlins has in store but I can imagine!! They are there to enjoy the brass band weekend though so I am sure it is not all drinking ..... well that is what I keep telling myself lol.

Back to this weeks challenge on Just Magnolia. I am sad to say I am leaving the DT. I have been with this amazing challenge from the very beginning when the wonderful Bev and Jacqui asked me to join them. I was so in awe, let me tell you - the line up was just incredible and then there was little old me! I have enjoyed myself so much but I feel it is the right time for me to say my goodbyes. I will miss the DT so much - they are an incredible bunch of supportive ladies and so very talented!
Thankyou so much for having me :o)

I am thrilled though that my last challenge is a sketch!!! I love these so much - thankyou Donalda, this one rocks!!

I really loved making this card so very much. Lots of embellies and punching - just what I like best of all! Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts - I need to get me a new order in - they have so many new blooms in stock ... can feel a spend coming on!
I really hope you all join in with us this week ..... I will certainly be back from time to time and have a go at winning one of the fab prizes that are on offer each week

Just Magnolia - A sketch

We have a gorgeous sketch on Just Magnolia this week and luckily for me a card I made for the current Magnolia Inspiration Magazine is perfect for it (rotated of course) so I am delighted to be joining the rest of the DT after having last week off.

This is one of my most used Magnolia stamps -I just love it so much - it can be used for almost anything ... not just christmas.

I really love this colour combo too. Aqua is becoming one of my favourite colours these days - so pretty and delicate. Magnolia have lots of papers which have it in too so I am a happy girl.

....and how lush are these little berries - again from Magnolia! I love it when the DT parcels arrive. Make sure you visit the challenge blog to look at the rest of the DT's beautiful cards.

Just Magnolia - Think Pink

Hi all, well it is almost the weekend at last and boy am I shattered! Looking forward to seeing my good friend Heidi this evening after her graduation - Congrats sweetie :o)

This week on Just Magnolia is a very special theme ... THINK PINK!!!!
Many of you will already know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We all really wanted to help raise awareness especially because one of our teamies was diagnosed with breast cancer. Jacque has been so strong with her fight to beat this disease with such dignity (and humour). She is a real inspiration to me and I am amazed at the courage she as shown this year.We all love you sweetie!

I am really behind with my crafting this week after being poorly but I was not going to miss this challenge - no way!!! So I have managed to get the front of my card complete. I will finish off the rest of my easel over the weekend and post the finished card then.

We are sponsored again by the wonderful Wild Orchid Crafts - oh boy I just adore their flowers and embellies ..... yum yum I could just sit and drool at the screen all day. Make sure you check out the prize - I am so jealous of who ever wins it!

Just Magnolia - a sketch

Hey there, how are you all doing?? It's Friday woop woop!!! I have a busy weekend coming up though with DT work so I am going to be locking myself away and being a busy, busy girl. I will still manage a night out tomorrow with my darling Glen .... love you hun xxxx

So onto this weeks challenge on Just Magnolia - we have a great sketch by our lovely teamie Dawny.

Thought I would let Edwin come out to play for a change .... another of last years stamps that has never seen ink ... tut tut

Soz for the poor pictures today, struggled for some reason last night, but you get the general idea. Lots of traditional colours today - I don't think Edwin would have been too happy in pinks and lilacs lol.

And that's your lot ..... not fussy at all for a change from me and a really fabby sketch to use. Hope you all get chance to join is this week. xxx

Just Magnolia - 2x2

Hi everyone, Friday again can you believe and boy what a busy week I have had! Ryan heads off to London today to play in the Royal Albert Hall tomorrow - I can't believe it will be his 3rd time there at the age of 17, we are so proud of him. Needless to say my life has been spent up making extra trips to band every night for the past couple of weeks. In between this I have had work and DT cards to make - boy could I use some extra hours in the day, lol.

So, that's what I have been up to but now it is time to have a look at my DT card for this weeks Just Magnolia which is 2x2 .... so let's see you fabulous creations! I would also just like to welcome a brand new teamie ... Claudia Rosa .... wow, she makes the most stunning cards, you must pop over to her blog and say hi :o)

So as you can see I have 2 butterflies, flowers, papers, sentiments and groups of pearls.

I am loving my new Basic Grey papers. Very different colours for me but they are gorgeous. These are from the Capella 6x6 paper pad.

Hmmmm, must be in a green and orange mood this week - very different for me :o)

Ta-da!!!! Finished. I hope you can join us this week. Don't forget to check out the rest of the DTs cards for inspiration - they are all fabulous as usual!

Just Magnolia and some INCREDIBLE news!!!!!!

Hi, oh what a windy yucky day it is here today in Yorkshire, It is the sort of weather that makes you want to sit in and craft all day. Unfortunately I have to go to work but never mind, I am going out with some gorgeous girlies for drinks tonight :o)

It is time for the special monthly challenge on Just Magnolia - and it is completely up to you what you make. As usual we are sponsored by Simon Says Stamp with a very generous prize - pop over to the challenge blog for more details. I am using the monthly challenges to try try something new - it is so easy to stick doing what you always do. I have made this sweet book mark which I found in the resources section in Split Coast Stampers.

Little Tilda is sat here wondering when on earth you will finish reading that page hahaha ....this just slips over the page, such a nice twist on a book mark. You can find the tutorial how to make it here..

Short and sweet again from me - make sure you check out the DT creations - there are some really amazing things to drool over ... as usual.

....... ok now for my good news. I nearly fell off my chair yesterday when I got an email asking me if I would like to join the Design Team for Crafter's Companion. Now, did I have to think about that ... err not for a split second. Of course my answer was a huge YES. OMG I am in complete shock but totally over the moon. I cannot wait until I can start playing with their fab products and share some work with you. I am still pinching myself - wow oh wow, little old me :o)

Have a wonderful day xxx

Just Magnolia - A sketch

Morning, what a dreary day it is today - looks like autumn is back again. But .... it is Friday and that is fab because not only is it the end of the working week for lots of us it is also time for another challenge on Just Magnolia. We have a really easy sketch fo you all to follow this week so come on, no excuse - join in the fun!

How beautiful are these papers. OMG it hurt to cut them but I am glad I did. They are by Kaiser Craft and from the Gypsey Sisters 6x6 pad. Talk about lush = the pack has flocked, glittered and glazed papers - no wonder I needed to lay down after cutting them!!!!

I have also made Tilda a brunette - something I don't usually do cos I am scared of change but I am glad I had a go ... more practice is needed I think, lol.

Challenges

A Spoonfull of Sugar - Anything Goes

Just Magnolia ... We're all cracking up!

Good morning to you and woohoo, Friday at last! Tine for a new challenge on Just Magnolia and because it is the first Friday in the month that means it is our Special Monthly Challenge sponsored by Simon Says Stamp. Originally the theme was to try cracked glass technique .... boy oy boy did we have some headaches with this. The DT have had all sorts of tales to tell including one about a bearded lady, rofl. Anyway .... we have decided that you can try this technique if you like  however from now on our monthly challenges will probably just be anything goes ..... much simpler!

I would just like to mention a little something to the fabulous Heidi from Simon Says Stamp ...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETIE!

Thanks so much for your continued support xxx

So here is my attempt - oh my lord what a time I had - I didn't have any clear embossing powder so made a trip out and got some from a local shop. For a little twist I added a layer of holographic embossing powder to give it some shimmer.

Anyhoo, this really is not the technique for me so I promptly coloured another Mermaid Tilda straight away and replaced her on my card ..... ahhhhhh that's better! How much are you all loving the new Magnolia Doo Hickey Dies .... Oh my lord I love them! (I can't believe how the colours look different in natural light compare to my daylight lamp)

Challenges

There ..... all finished - phew ... feel better now things are back to normal lol. Have a wonderful day and enjoy your weekend when it arrives!

Just Magnolia - Let's get sentimental

Morning and woohoo, Friday again at last!! We have a great challenge on Just Magnolia this week and we have been sponsored by Dies to Die For ... Thanks Tracy!! We would like to see you use sentiments on your project this week alongside your Magnolia image. The sentiment can be any brand of stamp, computer generated or even hand-written, we really don't mind.

My card was made very late last night when I got home at just before 11pm so you must excuse any little errors - the glue was still wet when I took the pic but I am happy that I got it finished in time!

Another non tradtional coloured christmas card - I love the fact you can use whatever colours you feel like .... it gives so much freedom when being creative.

Stamp: Mistletoe Tilda
Sentiment: See D's
Medium: Copics
Papers: Dovecraft 'Christmas Fancy'
Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts
Tools: Fancy Tags
Other: Stardust Stickles

Have a great Friday xxx

Just Magnolia - Vintage

Morning and woohoo, Friday at last! Gee, it sounds like I wish mylife away butyou know what the first week back at work is like after your hols. It has actually been ok so I shouldn'tgrumble and I am going out tonight with my wonderful husband :o)
This week on Just Magnolia I actually groaned when I saw the theme .... only because it is so out of my comfort zone. We want to see VINTAGE themed creations. Now I just usually do nice bright colours and to be honest I wasn't really sure what I should do for my card.

In the end I decided to try and make my card look like an old photograph, so lots of sepia type tones instead of my usual brights! I actually really enjoyed making my card so it just shows it is always really good to try something new.

I have used Magnolia's 'Newly Weds Bridal Couple' from the Wedding Collection and teamed it up with some of my very first papers I bought ...  Papermania's Elegance Collection. I have distressed the edges of all my papers with the amazing Tim Holtz Paper Distresser - OMG how did I ever manage without this great little tool!! Bet you know where my flowers are from ... yep Wild Orchid Crafts ... thanks Paul and Siri, I love them! I have covered my heart with pearls which was punched using Martha Stewarts Lace Scallop Heart Punch - love this punch.

I have also entered my card into the following challenges .....

Creative Craft Challenges - Here comes the Bride
Creative Inspirations - Use old stash ... papers
