Simon Says … Anything Goes

Hi there, middle of the week and what a surprise – I am at work again. I always seem to work on Wednesdays recently so here is another scheduled post. Just today and tomorrow left to do this week and then I get 3 days off. Typical that Glen is off at the moment and starts back on Friday – the life of shift workers hey!

Anyway, let’s get onto my card for today. It is that theme again that you all love …..

ANYTHING GOES

The design team are all using products by Hero Arts so do pop along to the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog for a look at what we all used.

I really love this stamp by Gillian Roberts (link below) and have used it quite a few times. I can honestly say I do not think I have used this colour combo before but that is what happens when you take your colours from your papers – it is great to try a new combo.

I really do like the cute smile on the teddy bear’s face lol, he looks pretty happy to be having a big old cuddle.

I am really pleased that you can see the gorgeous foiling on the papers in this shot. Kaiser bring out the most stunning papers. I think I own a fair few pads by them now and every one is just stunning.

A little Christmas robin on a miserable day

 

I saw a little robin in my garden a couple of days ago. Last year we had one nest in our garden shed and it was really exciting waiting for the babies to hatch. They haven’t nested in the shed this year though which is a pity. So I decided to make a card with this lovely Gatepost Robin image available from Just Inklined.

I have coloured my digi with my Copics and added lashings of Stickles!!

I have added Glossy Accents to the holly berries for some fabulous dimensional shine – they look great with this added over the top.

Simon Says ….. Back to School

Good afternoon to you all, thank goodness for challenges or I would never know what day it is, I am so confused this week with my shifts. I finished my nights on Monday morning and I am back at work today for 13 hours of fun in A&E (or the Emergency Department as we are supposed to call it). I should hopefully be having my lunch right about now and have only got 6 hours left to do before I can tootle on home. Doubt I will get any crafting done tonight or tomorrow but I have some things planned for my days off that I want to colour so hopefully my blog won’t be too neglected.

So onto this week on Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog. It is getting to that time of year when parents start to look a little happier because their kids are all heading back to school. So it seemed like the perfect theme for this week ……

BACK TO SCHOOL

The design team are all using products by Sizzix so do have a look for some great inspiration. You don’t have to use Sizzix products but if you do we would love to see them.

I have gone for an autumnal feel for my card today, after all it is the autumn term isn’t it. I am just loving my new Prima ‘Autumn Splendor’ glittered leaves which are glittered – wow, these are right up my street!

I have used this gorgeous image by The Greeting Farm. You will have to excuse my slightly peachy looking little lady – I am needing to get a couple of refills so I better get that sorted for next time … maybe she has just got back from an exotic holiday lol. I am not too sure about my little dots this time around my main image …. sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t, no big deal though hey.

I didn’t have the correct coloured flowers so I coloured mine to match with my Copics – I really do think I may just buy white from now on and do this all the time … guaranteed coordinating blooms every time! I used some really lovely textured blooms by Hero Arts.

Just Inklined – Daisy Patch

Morning folks, or is it goodnight??? I am just about to head off to bed after my night shift and I am shattered because I have been up for 25 hours now and am in desperate need for my bed.

Before I pop off to the land of nod here is my card for Just Inklined ….. isn’t it a lovely image.

This is called Daisy Patch and I have coloured it with my Prisma Pencils. I haven’t used these for absolutely ages and I really need more practice but I am proud that I had a go with them.

Hi folks, so did you get it???? It looks like the brand new Paintbox Poppets Pick of the Week by Crafter’s Companion on Create & Craft is going to be a sell out. Hardly a surprise after the last release of these beautiful images. I hope you have managed to catch some of the shows. Sara is still on air right now so you are not too late. Check out the schedules of the other live shows for lots of inspiration and demos.

Here is a card I made last night using the CD-Rom. The images are just stunning. I printed onto watercolour card and I just love the effect. I gave it a good old covering in silver Spray & Sparkle for a lovely frosty finish. The papers are also from the CD-Rom (I used one of the card companions) and I matted and layered it all on some scrummy centura pearl card.

Ok, I need to dash off and get ready for work – I think it is going to be a very hot and sticky shift and I am playing the air con is blasting out.
