Simon Says … Lemon and Lavender

 

 

Good morning, a glorious start to today with blue skies ….. and much more comfortable if you are working. I  have a day off though so it can be as warm as it likes….. and the good news is I am not back at work until July 11th … woop woop!!

Now then, here is my card for you for this weeks Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog. Our theme is lemon and lavendar and the design team are all using stamps by Penny Black. It is ages since I used a Penny Black stamp and I have gone for this vintage beauty!

Not like my usual style at all but I thought I would try something different … what do you think???

Morning, oops I am a little late with my post today .... guess who had an AMAZING sleep last night! I feel better than yesterday so looks like I am on the mend - woohoo!!!!

On Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog this week we are supporting a worthy cause ... you can read all about the details on our challenge blog but basically we want as many of you as possible to send a Thanksgiving or Christmas card so that they can be passed on to the elderly that either live alone, in nursing homes or who visit care centres. What a wonderful idea. We all have lots of cards in our craft rooms that would be perfect so please, please send what you can. Make sure you pop over to the challenge blog for details.

I am so happy to welcome the crazy lady that is Miss Dawny P as our Guest Designer for the next 4 challenges - woohoo, sure you will be as happy as a pig in muck my dear!

So to fit in with this our theme this week is Thanksgiving/Thanks

I have made a thankyou card this week (I am going to send a christmas card to the card drive) and oh boy .... look ..... I have dug out one of my Penny Black's - it is a long long time since I used one of these beauties. I really love the vintage stamps ... she is just adorable. There is a huge selection to choose from online at Simon Says Stamp Superstore.

The papers are so pretty and I felt the colours had quite a vintage feel to them. They are from the Cosmo Cricket 'Mini Love' deck .... love, love, love these papers.

Excuse my rubbish colouring this week, I am afraid my nose and eyes were streaming so much it is a wonder I managed to get it done at all ...... promise to do better tomorrow, lol.

Simon Says Stamp - Guest Designer ... Week 1

Good morning ... I bet you didn't expect to see me today did you. Well here I am and I am delighted to be the Guest Designer for Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog for the next 4 challenges. I feel so honoured because I love this blog and it is crammed full of such amazing talent .... thankyou ladies :o)

The challenge this week is a colour challenge ...... you have to use pink or blue with green and brown. There is also an optional twist .... to use a Penny Black stamp if you have one but you don't have to use it to join in. there are oodles and oodles of gorgeous Penny Black stamps and lots more to drool over at Simon Says Stamp so grab a cuppa and pop over for a browse - Heidi has so many delicious things to tempt you with. I love this stamp so much and it always makes me smile. The beautiful papers were sent to me by Tracy at DTDF and are from the GCD 12 x 12 Cloisonne Collection Pad - if you love pinks you will ADORE these papers!!! Another beautiful punch by Martha Stewart, thisone is 'Lattice' and it gives such a pretty finish. The roses are a mixture from Tabbycrafts and Wild Orchid crafts and the pretty gem flowers and pin are from Crafty Feeling and the sentiment is by Craftwork cards (also available to purchase from DTDF).

Having my hair done this morning, think it might be time to say goodbye to my fringe .... only had it a few weeks but still not sure about it .... what do you think .... I am the one in the middle

PBSC and my candy winner

Hello, here I am ... better late than never. Phew, what a day I have had. Been working extra at work today vaccinating lots of our patients against swine flu - am shattered now, been a long day :o)
Can I just say a huge thankyou to everyone for all their fab comments and entries on last weeks Countdown to Christmas - are you a winner????? There are lots of you mentioned over on the challenge blog so pop over and see if it is you!


So here is my card for this weeks PBSC and we have a really great sketch by our lovely Beth - isn't it a useful sketch and so easy to follow too.



Sticking with nice bright colours for a change lol and these delish papers are from Tracy at Dies To Die For and are by MME. Oodles of stickles everywhere - everyone I know is hooked on this stuff now and again, you can buy this from DTDF.

Penny Black

Good morning folks, lets have a big cheer for the weekend!!!! I cannot believe it is a week since I was at the NEC - it has gone by so fast. We have a really fab challenge for you this week on Penny Black and we are joined again by the lovely Debby

CHRISTMAS FOR THE GUYS


I have tried to keep my card nice and simple and found that these BG papers are just fab for male cards - nice bold colours and nothing too fussy. I have followed the sketch over on The Pixie Cottage and it is a nice simple one to follow.




Oodles and oodles of stardust stickles on here .... how did I live without this stuff?????? Tracy at Dies to die for has just got hold of a load and it should be up for sale very soon so make sure you keep checking her site!
Have a fab weekend everyone - I am scooting off to Gateshead later for the weekend to watch Ryan compete in 'Brass in Concert' - this is an incredible contest with the best bands in the world all performing an entertainments programme. It is also recorded for sale as a triple DVD so I can't wait for it to come out!! Have a good one folks xxx

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - White on White

Hiya everyone. oops looks like I am a little late again ... I must stop going out on a Friday night, lol. It is Saturday so time to join us all at Penny Black for a great challenge ....

WHITE ON WHITE

Now deep breaths and don't panic .... this is actually a brilliant theme as I found out. I loved it once I got started and think I may use this for a lot of my christmas cards this year.



The cuttlebug was put into action with a couple of embossing folders - how quick and easy! A nice simple image and a bit of stickles and hey presto ... job done!



I have also added a bit of cosmic shimmer to my flowers, I love this and think I will be getting lots of lovely shades next week at the NEC (eeek only 7 days to go ... woohoo!!!!)


Thought I would leave you with a scary pic of me from last night. Popped into The Living Room (my fave bar) with hubby for a nice drinkie or two and bumped into Julie - a lady that I work with and her partner. Needless to say we ended up having a fair few drinks and a fabulous night out - aren't those the best type of nights :o)

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - A sketch

Good morning - blimey I didn't think I would get this post out to you all. I decided to bring my laptop with me and so bought some minutes from BT Open something or other - anyway, the connection keeps failing so this is going to be very short and sweet (thank the lord I hear you say, lol). So yes, here I am in London waiting to hear Ryan play in the ROYAL ALBERT HALL later today - how exciting and proud this all makes me :o)
But you don't want to hear me going on and on so I will tell you a little more tomorrow about how they did. Back to today and we have a sketch for you on PBSC for you all to follow and it is FAB!



I loved the sketch and it is perfect for some of the larger PB stamps so get digging them out! I have used some gorgeous papers from Tracy at DTDF ... will add names and links when I get home.

PBSC - Buttons & Bows

Hi there everyone and it is a sunny Saturday :o) So, the latest update is that now my tooth feels great (woohoo) but yesterday I felt so ill I can't even describe it. To top it off I have woken up today covered in a rash .... I think it is either a viral rash or from the painkillers. Still got a dreadful headache and feel shattered - hope I am on the mend soon cos you are all going to be bored to tears listen to my moans and groans, lol.



I love our challenge for you this week on Penny Black Saturday Challenge - BUTTONS & BOWS! I knew I wanted to make a baby card and this sweet image is one of my faves by PB.

A little bit of stickles to the flowers and butterfly - even baby cards need a bit of sparkle :o) I have followed the sketch on PTW and fliped it - I love Dawny's sketches, what a clever lady :o)

PBSC - Autumn breezes

Good morning and welcome to the perfect day for our new challenge on Penny Black Saturday Challenge . Why is it a perfect day??? Well outside it is blustery and raining, a real autumn day ...... guess what our challenge is ......

AUTUMN BREEZES

Well this made me get my thinking cap on because I do not have any autumn type PB stamps so I started looking at papers etc for inspiration. I just loved these funky papersand hey, if it says autumn who am I to argue, lol. So with colours sorted out I thought about what I like about autumn ...... shopping!!!!! Yep, time for new clothes and there are loads of sales on right now so problem solved ..... perfect image. Lol,and I bet you thought I had just picked a random image .... tut tut!


So there you go - you have no excuse not to play along. Just choose something that reminds YOU of autumn and get creating.
