First impressions - GWA Natural palette & 2 Maybelline lipsticks - and link to a bargain price!!!

Hi everyone and happy October!! I can't believe it is this far into the year already. I really love autumn though and the changing leaves are so pretty.

I popped into town today and I bought a few new bits of makeup. I got the Natural palette from GWA and also 2 lipsticks from Maybelline.

So first things first. The palette by Girls with Attitude. It has 12 shadows in it and are, as it suggests, a very neutral palette.

GWA Natural eyes 12 piece eyeshadow palette

There are 12 shades in the palette with a mix of matte, sheen and shimmer. I swatched the shadows onto my arm and first impressions are that the shimmer shades are really pigmented however the matte shades really do struggle to give much pay off and are quite patchy with just one sweep.

I would need to work with this palette to see if the shades are buildable or not. I do think the shimmer shades are very pigmented and are really pretty though and great for an every day look or to add some shimmer to an evening look.

Next up are two lipsticks by Maybelline. I usually struggle to find a shade that suits me but not today - I think the lipstick fairies were smiling on me today because I found not one but two..... yes TWO beautiful shades.

The first shade I tried was shade 630 and I cannot believe that it is on Amazon for only £2.50 .... argh I paid £6.99!!!! I think I am going to have to stock up on some more shades!

The colour is so nice on and I just love it. It feels really nourishing without being to heavy. One of my new favourites.
The next one I bought was in shade 240 and boy oh boy it is so pretty.

It is a really pretty mauve shade with a gold shimmer. I do not usually like shimmery lipsticks because I usually find them really drying on my lips but wow, wow, wow ..... this is unbelievable. It is so gorgeous and feels really moist. I had thought the previous lipstick was my favourite but honestly this one just pips it!

I have put a video up on YouTube if you want to see how the eyeshadows and lipstick look 'in real life'

I am delighted with my purchases today. I hope you have found this useful. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and I will be back again soon

Latest in Beauty unboxing | Beauty over 40

Good evening everyone, I hope you are having a good day .... hang in there it's almost the weekend thank goodness.

It was my late finish tonight but the good news is it also meant that I start at lunch so I was able to pop to the Post Office and collect my parcel that I missed yesterday.

It was the best type of post .... goodies for me!

I have become slightly obsessed with beauty boxes over the past few months. I just love the whole idea of getting lots of new things to try each month. My parcel today is by Latest in Beauty and it is the first time I have had a box from them.

I have subscribed to this one because I was with YOU Beauty but they have now merged with Latest in Beauty so I took up this in place of it. Because I had transferred over I got a free product worth £53 ....wow!!!!

You can choose either 3, 6 or 9 products and can either get a monthly subscription or a one off box. I have signed up for a monthly box (cos I am just greedy) which means I choose 9 products for £18 (not £25 like I mentioned ... oops)  a month including postage. I just love my new box so much. If you would like to see me unboxing it and giving first impressions of my box just have a peep at my video over on my YouTube channel.

Haha, ignore my upside down thumbnail - I now know if you take your photo with your iPhone and it is upside down you can't get it to show the right way round.

There is also a code for £3 off one of the products in the video.

If you like my video remember to give me a thumbs up and I would love it if you could subscribe to my channel.

We are going to our caravan tomorrow - I cannot wait! See you all soon xxx

Seventeen Stay Pout Lipstick Review

Hi everyone and welcome to a brand new type of post for me. I thought it would be fun to review some makeup products and see if they do as they claim.

Whilst shopping in town i popped into Boots and had a browse around the different makeup. I have been looking for a lipstick for work that is long lasting so I do not have to reapply it. There are so many brands claiming to do this and it gets so confusing.

Anyway, I spotted a brand I have not used in years! And when I say years I mean years. I used to use this as a teenager because it is so affordable. Seventeen is still as good value as ever although there are even more affordable brands out there nowadays. Luckily Seventeen also has an offer of buy one item get one half price so it would have been rude not to buy something.

I chose a lipstick from the ‘Stay Pout’ range which is supposed to be long wearing. It is under £5 and there are 15 shades to chose from (but the shade I wanted was out of stock … grrrrr). I ended up choosing ‘Just a Fling’ which is a nice peachy nude perfect for daytime wear.

I have uploaded a video onto YouTube showing how it applied and then I did a few check ins throughout the day after eating and drinking to show how well it was holding up to it’s claims. You can view the video below….

I think this lipstick was ok as far as lipsticks go. It lasted fairly well but no where near what I was expecting. It was a nice formula and felt comfortable to wear however I think that it would need reapplying after 4- 5 hours. I would be happy to purchase again in another shade.
