MY FIRST CARD IN A WHILE

Hello ..... why am I so nervous? I used to share so many cards but that was such a long time ago. I do feel a little bit proud though that I have created a card and shared it on my blog. My card is definitely old school card making style though lol. I think I have a lot to change to bring me up to date but for now I will stick with what I know and what makes me feel at home.

My stash has stood the test of time so well. I do have a couple of splodgy copics though - I suspect I need to buy a  few new nibs after them being left on the shelf. We would all be a bit temperamental if we had been forgotten about for the best part of a decade.

I am thinking about getting some distress inks though to colour with .... help!! What would be a nice mix of colours to start with? I have been looking at the mini sets and currently have 16 sets in my basket! I clearly need to reduce this down and try them first before investing in so many .... I am all or nothing though lol.

So I should  probably tell you a bit about my card shouldn't I haha. I have forgotten so much but I am fairly sure this cutie is from The Greeting Farm .... isn't it?

I thought I would start with a fairly simple image to colour - my colouring skills are so rusty but I loved colouring her so much. I have added Stardust Stickles (one of my faves) to her wings and created a sparkly floor to ground her. I added some more sparkle with a Sakura Gelly Roll pen to the halo and bow in her hair .... I do love sparkle and bling!

The papers are from an old Bo Bunny 6x6 pad (Crazy Love). I love pink and brown together so much. Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards (I think). I struggled with my glue ... I think it has split so I will need to pick some more up. I used Glossy Accents to stick the flowers in place. The gems are from Art Studio (is this maybe The Range or Hobbycraft??).

I think that is pretty much it. It's great to be back. Please be kind ... it's been a while. Thanks if you have kept me on your follow list even though I haven't been posting. See you all again really soon.

Now for some challenges ...

Have a great week

LOTV - James:Deck the Halls .... Copic Video

I thought I would share a real cute image from Lili of the Valley. It is so long since I coloured this cute little image. I will be making it up into a card very soon so as soon as I have I will share my card.

I am so happy to be back creating. I still need to refill a few of my copics but I am just going to do a few a month I think.

The inspiration for my colour choices was taken from my papers .... I love this twist on Christmas colours ... especially the dusky rose. The digi stamp is Deck the Halls and is one of the 'James' images

I have uploaded my video to my Youtube channel also so if you haven't subscribed I would love for you to pop on over and have a look at my content.

Here is a list of my Copics that I used ....

My Copic Collection - getting organised

Happy Sunday everyone. It's another beautiful weekend in the UK - I hope you are managing to enjoy the nice weather.

I have been busy sorting my copic markers out in anticipation of my first colouring session and I discovered that there is now a hex chart available. I am so late to the game after being absent for so long but wow, I am completely blown away by this chart. It was created by Sandy Allnock and is available to purchase from her website.

What a difference it is going to make to my coluring. The way it is laid out will make pen selection for blending so much easier. I had great fun colouring the chart but I did have to start a few times because I coloured the wrong hex in by mistake - doh, lack of concentration lol.

It has also let me find which pens need refilling - this is going to be pricey - around £140 for the refills that I need but it will be an investment. I cant decide if I should just get all the refills I need straight away of ir I should get a few plus a few new shades .... decisions decision. My head says get the refills but my heart wants more pens lol.

Anyway, here is a little video I made about my pens and my chart ..... I hope you enjoy.

Thanks for taking the time to visit me xxx

Feeling a little distressed ….. x

Good afternoon everyone, I hope it is dry with you all today. There is so much flooding around and York, as usual has been affected with the Ouse spilling out and causing disruption. I hope your properties are dry and that noone has been flooded.

It is back to reality after my fun away at Craftaganza last week. I am also back to work tonight for 4 night shifts :o(

I am sharing my DT card with you today for Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog. It is a good old favourite of ‘ANYTHING GOES; so I expect we will be swamped with entries. The DT are all using the fabulous products by Martha Stewart.

05-11.12

I have dug out my very first Magnolia stamp that I ever bought. I really love this one. I am pretty happy with how my card turned out this week. I think if you are happy it shows in your cards – I am certainly in a good mood at the moment :o)

05-11.12a

I have coloured my image with a combination of Copics and Spectrum Noir pens. I have finally manage to create a hint of creases in Tilda’s dress and I am going to keep practicing until I get better at this colouring technique. I thought I would colour the background to try and help the image pop, who wants all that white space anyway lol.

05-11.12b

Check me being all brave and distressing the edges and my flowers – think I need to go lay down after that hahahaha. Lots of Martha Stewart punches here and also some delish ribbon by Martha Stewart too. All links are below.

Something a little different

Good afternoon everyone. First of all can I just say that I hope everyone on the East coast of America is safe after the terrible storms. I saw the news on the television and it looks terrible.

Onto more frivolous things now and it is Wednesday which means a new theme for Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog. We would love to see you all GET INTO SHAPE. No, you do not have to head down to the gym (although I did today, groan) ….. just be creative with shapes.

07-10.12

I have used my Ultimate Pro to create this cute little box file. This was really fun to make.

07-10.12a

I made all the little pockets but you could cut spare envelopes in half to create the same effect. It would be great for storing stamped images (if a bigger folder was made) or small embellishments etc.

07-10.12b

I have used another cute image from C.C. Designs …… Birgitta is such a cutie!

Heidi will be giving a $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store!

Falling into Autumn

I am back with another card to share with you all. This time it is for Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog. This week our theme is Autumn Leaves so we would love to see leaves or colours of autumn on your projects.

06-10.12

I had great fun colouring my image, she is one of my favourites. I always try to colour with a different colour scheme from the last time I used the same stamp and I have to say I just love these colours.

 06-10.12a

For a change I coloured the whole of the background in grey. It does look a bit like the sky here in Yorkshire today and I really like how it makes the paler colours of the image ‘pop’.

06-10.12b

I am still loving these pretty leaves by Prima (links below). Lots of them come pre-glittered so that is a winner with me straight away lol.

I want green hair!

Boo!!!!!

Did I make you jump? I bet I didn’t. The only way I could scare you today is if I popped right up in front of your face. I am looking rather grim today and I feel a little bit under the weather. There seems to be a lot of yuckiness around at the moment so if you are also feeling ill then GET WELL SOON!!!!

Another Wednesday already, can you believe it. That means it is time for a brand new challenge on Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog. This week we have a fabulous inspiration board so use it in what ever way you choose to help your creativity flow.

04-10.12

How cool is Edward here – inspired of course from Twilight (hanging my head in shame because I still haven’t seen any of the films or read the books – I will get around to it though). My papers are by Basic Grey – haven’t used BG for a while so nice to get back into these.

04-10.12a

I have taken loads of inspiration from the boards – the colours, Halloween theme etc. I was tempted to give him a really pale complexion but I chickened out. I did give him extra colour in his hair though – check out those green streaks – WOW!

04-10.12b

I wish we celebrated Halloween more here in the UK but we are getting better I think. I see some amazing photos on the internet of how homes are decorated in America – so cool x

I have used a mixture of Copics and Spectrum Noirs to colour with. All colours shown below.
