MY FIRST CARD IN A WHILE

Hello ..... why am I so nervous? I used to share so many cards but that was such a long time ago. I do feel a little bit proud though that I have created a card and shared it on my blog. My card is definitely old school card making style though lol. I think I have a lot to change to bring me up to date but for now I will stick with what I know and what makes me feel at home.

My stash has stood the test of time so well. I do have a couple of splodgy copics though - I suspect I need to buy a  few new nibs after them being left on the shelf. We would all be a bit temperamental if we had been forgotten about for the best part of a decade.

I am thinking about getting some distress inks though to colour with .... help!! What would be a nice mix of colours to start with? I have been looking at the mini sets and currently have 16 sets in my basket! I clearly need to reduce this down and try them first before investing in so many .... I am all or nothing though lol.

So I should  probably tell you a bit about my card shouldn't I haha. I have forgotten so much but I am fairly sure this cutie is from The Greeting Farm .... isn't it?

I thought I would start with a fairly simple image to colour - my colouring skills are so rusty but I loved colouring her so much. I have added Stardust Stickles (one of my faves) to her wings and created a sparkly floor to ground her. I added some more sparkle with a Sakura Gelly Roll pen to the halo and bow in her hair .... I do love sparkle and bling!

The papers are from an old Bo Bunny 6x6 pad (Crazy Love). I love pink and brown together so much. Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards (I think). I struggled with my glue ... I think it has split so I will need to pick some more up. I used Glossy Accents to stick the flowers in place. The gems are from Art Studio (is this maybe The Range or Hobbycraft??).

I think that is pretty much it. It's great to be back. Please be kind ... it's been a while. Thanks if you have kept me on your follow list even though I haven't been posting. See you all again really soon.

Now for some challenges ...

Have a great week

BUNNIES DAISY CHAIN - LILI OF THE VALLEY DT

Happy Friday everyone. Not long until Valentine's Day and so I thought I would make my darling hubby a card.

I really love this cute image from Lili of the Valley. The digi stamp is called 'Bunnies Daisy Chain' although I have coloured my flowers in red.

I really need to become familiar again with my stash, I have no idea where anything is but I found this cute heart doily which fits perfectly with the theme.

My punches all seem to be struggling to punch - has anyone else experienced this after having a break from crafting. I wonder if I need to sharpen them. I am so worried that they will break as I am having to press so hard for the punch to cut.

I finished my card off with stickles (always have loved a bit of sparkle) and some liquid pearls. My liquid pearls almost destroyed my card ... I had a bit of a 'splodge' moment but ended up colouring it over with my copics to try and disguise the near disaster - so annoying when it is at the end of your finishing touches.

Anyway enough waffle from me. I hope you have enjoyed my card. Here are my craft supplies ....

The Paper Shelter ……. Glitz and Glimmer

Good morning world, sorry I am a little late today but all these late nights are taking their toll so I decided to be a lazy bum and stay in bed this morning…. what a treat!

That now means I am running round like a loon trying to wake up and post my card because I didn’t even consider scheduling my card, tut tut. So please excuse any typos, I will probably spot them later and edit my post.

I have 2 cards today. My first is my DT card for
The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog. We have a theme close to my heart …..

GLITZ AND GLIMMER

I have been wanting to use this beautiful image from The Paper Shelter for a little while now. She is called ‘Spring in the Heart’ and is just so pretty.

I have coloured her with Spectrum Noir pens and kept to the nice soft shades for this card. I drew the grass using little flicks with the pens and I think it has worked well.

The papers are from an old A5 paper pad by Forever Friends, I think it was the Pink Parfait collection. Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the little butterflies were just in my stash. I am going to start going through all my stuff and using these little bits and bobs that I have. Makes a nice change from my usual embellishments.

Now I am not sure if this is showing up very well on my photo but I sprayed all the pink flowers with the new Pink Spray and Sparkle from Crafter’s Companion. They will make a donation to Breast Cancer Care for every can that is sold. So you can add sparkle to everything knowing you have helped a very worthwhile charity.

Oki doki, that’s all my words over with lol. Don’t forget to check out our challenge blog for details of the priza and also all the other wonderful creations by the design team. Oooops I almost forgot ….. WELCOME to all the new members of the DT and congratulations!!!!

OMG … You are soooo embarrassing!!!!!!

Good morning folks, yay for the weekend!!! I am off for a couple of days which is brilliant. Hubby is off too so that is even better. We are going to go out tonight to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary which was yesterday – how time flies.

Anyhoo, onto my card for today. Sometimes you just need a little humour in your life don’t you think. This image from
Just Inklined really made me smile. You can see other fab inspiration over on the Just Inklined Blog. This hilarious image is called Daisy and Watson and you can purchase it from Just Inklined.

I coloured my image first AGAIN before picking my papers …… I will pop the links below if you are interested.

The face of the girl and the dog just crack me up. The dog reminds me of that clip with Harry Secombe when he was doing Songs of Praise and the dog went skidding down the hill on it’s bum behind him hahahaha. The sentiment Plan A is from the fabulous Create with TLC.

The Paper Shelter – Buttons and Bows

Hi everyone, well I survived my study day and I am now home ready to unwind with a bit of crafting. I have lots of DT samples to make so you won’t see them on my blog straight away but the results should be up next week I think.

I have been itching to share my card for this weeks The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog with you all. It is not very often that I love my own cards but this is a real favourite of mine. It just came together really easily and so that is probably one of the reasons. I also love the papers and the colours too ….. hope you like it….

The theme this week is buttons and bows. I have so many buttons but hardly ever use them. I must start digging them out, I really like them sat on my bow like that. Typical that I have started buying twine but still failed to have the correct colour to thread a little bow through the button, never mind.

Another insert decorated ….. I am slightly impressed with myself – wonder how long I can keep this up???? I am totally in love with these papers – they are so lush ….. foiled and glazed, ooooh it hurt to cut into them I can tell you!

A closer look at the image – she is just great isn’t she. Love her grumpy face, bless haha ….. she is called ‘A Little Bit Grumpy’ and is available to buy from The Paper Shelter. I had lots of fun colouring her, this is why I like taking my colours from my backing papers, I probably wouldn’t have chosen these colours for her originally but I just loved the papers that I had to use them.

And look ….. even a box!!!!!! Don’t faint! This sheet of paper is so beautiful in real life, the glazing is stunning and has to be seen to be really appreciated. I couldn’t bare to cover it with any other bits of paper.

So thats your lot ….. remember to join in on the challenge blog for a chance to win – full details on The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog ….. remember you can use any image at all.

Challenges:
Bunny Zoe’s Crafts – Ribbon/Twine
Wild Orchid Crafts – Things with Wings

The Paper Shelter: Winter Blues …. My first DT card!!

Morning guys, what an exciting day it is for me – I am thrilled to have my very first card to share with you all for The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog. There are a few other newbies on Team A too so I hope you pop over and give them all a big welcome too.

Our theme this week is Winter Blues. I am glad to say it is finally getting a bit milder here and the last snow melted yesterday. I am sure there will be a few more cold days before Spring arrives though.

04-02.12

I have used this beautiful image called ‘A. Mucha Influence – Winter’  and I think she is so pretty and was a dream to colour with my copics. The sentiment is by Whiff of Joy and I think I have had it forever. I tried something new on this card and I am pleased with how it turned out – I inked up my little flourish stamps with 2 different inks, blue and brown, and stamped them around the edges of the image. I think it helps tie the papers in nicely with the stamp. I will certainly try it again.

04-02.12a

I love all the faces on the gorgeous images by The Paper Shelter – they are just so sweet.

04-02.12b

To complete my card I have used flowers, lace and pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts – just had a delivery of new stash – woop woop, lol.

I am entering my card for the following challenges:

Creative Inspirations – Brown, Blue & Cream
Stampin’ For The Weekend – Photo/Colour Combo
