Simon Says … Sporty and/or Patriotic

Good afternoon to you all. Here we are at our new time for Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog – I hope you used the extra few hours this morning to join in with our previous challenge. If not we will forgive you as long as you promise to take part this week :o)

It is not long now until the Olympics start so our theme this week is to get inspiration from either the Olympics or 4th July.
The design team are all showcasing products by Cuttlebug this week.

So I decided to go down the 4th of July theme. I have had this image for quite a while now but never coloured her so it was about time I sorted that out! She is really marching with such a purpose that it really made me smile.

I have stuck to red, white and blue for her clothing too ….. I know the papers are really busy but I think it works quite well. I really like the balloons on the papers and they certainly fit in with all those Independance Day celebrations!!!

As usual there are plenty of embellies too …. but no flowers today from me (shock/horror). I have used my Copics to colour my image and I am trying out a new way of listing my colours. I have added clickable links for every single colour. How good am I lol. Let me know what you think and if you like it or not. If you do like it I will try to add it every week if I get time ….. see how I am not making any promises hehe.

You all know by now that if you are the lucky winner then you are set to win a $50 voucher to spend at Simon Says Stamp Online Store – yes that’s right …. are we crazy????? Perhaps but you know that you have a great selection of goodies to spend it on so you would be crazy not to join in!!

As promised here are the links to the copics I have used …… think I have just booked my place in heaven … shining halo ….. x

Flower Cross - Just Inklined

Good morning my lovelies .... another dry day here and hubby is working hard to try and finish his shed before we go on our hols. It is looking good so far, it just amazes me how men can just build these things from scratch. I suppose it is a bit like us crafters making cards hey :o)

So here is my very first card for the Just Inklined DT. It is really nice to colour something different to my usual cute.

This beautiful image is called 'Flower Cross' and is so easy to colour.

I usually pick my papers first and then colour my image to match but this time I just coloured my image first. I then went through my papers to see what would match. I found these lovely papers by Basic Grey and I think they match perfectly. I might start doing it this way a little more often because I have had these forever and doubt I would have thought to use them for this card.

Lots of pretty pearls and flowers (and some punching too) to finish it all off. There are lots of wonderful cards for inspiration over on the Just Inklined Blog so make sure you pop over for a look.

Challenges:

The Pink Elephant - Sketch
Daisy Doodles - Anything Goes
Stampin' for the Weekend - Show us your Style (lots of embellies and papers)
Totally Gorjuss - Something Yellow

Have a wonderful day xxx

Simon Says ….. Anything But A Card

I am back again ….. did you miss me lol. So as promised, here is my 2nd offering for today. It is for the one and only Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog. It is a special week this week because we have a brand new design team!! I am so thankful to be back for another term ….. I just love being on this team so thankyou so much to Heidi, Steph and Lols for having faith in me. It would be great if you could all pop over and say hi to all the newbies and a well done to the old timers :o)
So what is the theme this week ……

ANYTHING BUT A CARD

I decided to make a book mark this week. I was originally going to make one of the little corner ones but then I found my Bazzill gem template and wanted to use it so I ended up with a more traditional book mark. I also used some Doodlebug rub ons too – how cool are these!

The design team are all using products by 7 Gypsies and Maya Road this week, and wow, there are some amazing creations!!!!

I now have my bookmark all ready for my holidays ….. just the last book in the Fifty Shades trilogy to read …… holding off reading it until I go so I can have a couple of uninterrupted days to read it. What will I do when I get to the end????

You all know by now that one lucky person who enters will win a $50 voucher to spend at the Simon Says Stamp Online Store …… so come on, get joining in – there are so many fabulous products in store that could be dropping into your basket for free!!!!

I have been bold again with my colour choice – orange and green, quite a change to my usual but I had fun and that is what it is all about isn’t it.

I also coloured my sentiment and butterflies with my copics to tie in with my colour scheme.

A card just for fun …… how rare!

Afternoon all, hope you are having a great weekend. I am enjoying my days off and had a great day with my lovely sister-in-law shopping in Leeds yesterday. Still have 4 days off to enjoy so I might try and crack on with a bit of the old ‘H’ word ssshhhhh and then the rest of the time can be spent crafting to my heart’s content!

I thought I would share a card I made for order a few weeks ago. It is nice to make male cards every now and then and seeing as it is Father’s Day today it seemed a good day to share it.

I have used one of Mo Manning’s fabulous digis, hmmmm I seem to be using lots of digis at the moment. I love using them because you can make them any size you like, flip them etc etc. I really must try to merge some together soon. Think that will be my next challenge!

I adore blue and orange together although I have to admit it is not a colour combo I use very often. I took the colours from my papers which I have had FOREVER, I love going through my old stash, I always find something I forgot I had.

I have FINALLY used my star nesties – woop woop. Think I must have had them a couple of years lol. Oh well, better late than never hey. I love using this mesh stuff on male cards. Thought it could represent the football net….. that is what I was trying to achieve anyway hehe.

A little peek at the inside.

…. and of course a matching box!!!! Have to say I could not live without my ultimate pro and boxer boards. It only takes a couple of minutes to make my boxes now – thankyou Crafter’s Companion!!!!!!!

There’s Magic in the Air – One for the boys
The Pink Elephant – Masculine
Lexi’s Creations – Happy Birthday
Charisma Cardz – Male Cards
Delightful Challenges -  For the Boys

Have a great day xxx
