Flora sitting pretty

Good afternoon my lovelies, well I am all refreshed after a whopping 12 hours sleep!! I can’t remember the last time I slept that long. I feel as fresh as a daisy now though so I thought I would share another sneak peek of the fabulous Toread stamps before heading into town.

10-09.12

This cute little stamp is called Flora and she is so pretty sitting there with her flowers in her hair. As usual I have coloured her with Spectrum Noir pens on Neenah cardstock. I have added colour around the edges of the image using eye shadow. I bought a huge palette off eBay for my cards but I suppose you should really use chalks lol.

10-09.12a

I have matted and layered her up. I love aqua and purple – certainly one of my favourite colour combos. The scrummy Core’dinations card was from a pack that was already embossed (links below). All I had to do was sand it and voila – gorgeousness in 30 seconds!

10-09.12b

Keep checking all the DT for lots more inspiration, we are all Toread crazy so there are loads of samples flying around blogland.

…… I need more practice!

Oh dear, sometimes the card you see in your head doesn’t quite come together in reality does it lol. Never mind, I am still kind of proud that I tried something different even if it isn’t quite right.

It is my second project for today and look, not an alcohol ink in sight! This time my card is for Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog. Our theme is Anything Goes – a real favourite with you all. The design team are all using products by October Afternoon.

15-09.12

So look, this is really different for me. I have stamped onto acetate and then used embossing powder for this lovely glitzy finish. This was so pretty in my head.It is the first time I have stamped onto acetate though so I can only improve.

Oh yes, I also had to buy some Flumps ….. the only ones left out of the huge bag are the ones which are inside my project lol ….. I might need to have a tasty little treat when I get home from work tonight lol.

Enamel amour!

Good afternoon, well apparently it is Wednesday although my poor brain is completely jumbled and is a day behind!! I had a slight panic last night when I realised it was Tuesday and not Monday and I had to rush to get my DT card made for Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog. I managed to finish it time thankfully and also had the chance to play with some new goodies too.
The theme this week is
EMBOSS IT
This can either be heat or dry embossing. I have to say I had so much fun doing this and discovered the most amazing product that I have fallen head over heels in love with!
The design team have created some awesome projects for your inspiration, we are all featuring Stampendous Products this week, you don't have to use them to join in but we would love to see them used if you have them :-)

So here is my card. I am pleased with how it turned out, especially as I was having kittens because I had forgotten to make it lol. I have used one of my new Miss Anya stamps by The Greeting Farm which only arrived a couple of days ago. It is a while since I used a Miss Anya stamp, they are always such great images for teens I think.

How do you like her Ugg boots – aren’t they fab!! I have used my Copics to colour the image apart from the flesh which I used Spectrum Noirs.

Ok, so here is my new love. Check out this embossing enamel. I thought I would just have a go on my butterfly to see what it would look like. Wow, you should see this in real life – it is stunning!!!! I added 3 layers although I don’t think I really needed that many. The incredible thing is it completely covers the base card. Both butterflies were punched out of different card – one was dark brown and the other was from my backing papers. The incredible thing is they booth look the same. I am going to use up all my old scraps now using this enamel – so pretty!!!!

Here is a plain old white flower given the enamel treatment ….. thank goodness I could find my heat gun today!! No more dull flowers for me from now on!!!

A different angle showing the pretty glittered First Edition papers.

CC Challenge and Got to Dance

Afternoon folks, how is the start of your week? I am off until Thursday night and I am enjoying my time making DT samples which you should all see in a couple of weeks. We have been teasing lots of people on Facebook about what the launch is going to be but noone has guessed yet. All I can say is it is something brand new from Crafter’s Companion and it will be Pick of the Week on Create and Craft from the 28th September. Watch out for sneak peeks coming soon.

It has been an exciting weekend too because my lovely friend Gemma was in London auditioning for Got To Dance. The audience really loved her. You can see comments on the official FB page and it would be great if you could follow her on Twitter @gem2dance. The show isn’t aired until January so we are all keeping everything crossed for her.

gem2dance

Anyhoo, onto my card. It is one for this months challenge on Crafter’s Companion Challenge Blog and our theme is GOLD. A few of the DT are providing midway inspiration so pop over and join in the fun.

Here is a card I made for Sara to take over to Germany for her shows over there. I have only used the 6 Spectrum Noir pens from the yellow pack and a couple greys.
