HUNKYDORY HAUL - first impressions

I was recently contacted by Hunkdory and asked if I would like to review some of their products. After picking my jaw off the floor I obviously replied yes please!!! I have used their products in the past and have always been impressed by the quality of their products.

I thought I would share what I chose with you all. I have also filmed a video of my haul so if you want to see the products in closer detail please feel free to watch below ... I will include the video in this post.

So what did I choose .... here is a quick list of items first then I will tell you my first impressions of each. I just want you all to know that I am expressing my own thoughts on each item and I have been asked to share my honest opinions.

Here is the video of my unboxing of these goodies ....

I have been thinking about trying a proper blending tool for some time so when I saw this I was very excited to get it.

I really liked that there are two handles with 6 interchangeable pads. The handles are extremely comfortable to hold and fit in the hand really nicely.

The pads change very easily and have velcro attached to each pad plus the handle. You can also buy additional pads which is so useful if you own a lot of inks and want pads for each colour.

Overall I am very impressed and will be purchasing additional pads for my personal use.

I really am a sucker for a bit of bling and most of my cards will have a bit of sparkle somewhere.

I was really drawn to this pack because I am a nana to a beautiful little boy so I am planning to do lots of mini albums and folios so really needed so blue bling in my collection. I really like the range of shades of blue in this pack and the different sizes. They are really sparkly and nice and sticky.

I think these are a great price with a lovely range of shades and sizes.

Oh my gosh!!! This is so much more than I expected. I really love adding sentiments onto cards etc so I thought this looked a really nice item but wow, it is honestly AMAZING!!

I really do recommend that you watch my video for this item because I show you every page in this little book of loveliness. My mind is blown lol ..... it has sentiments to cover all your needs.

I am honestly still in shock about how good this product is. The card is such good quality and every sentiment is foiled. I am honestly in love with this and am seriously looking to purchase the other collections. I really do consider this to be a must have for your stash. There is a lovely array of colours and the foiling is in silver and gold .... what more can I say apart from fabulous.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this sooooo much

I am going to admit to thinking that this was something else when I requested it. It is an 8x8 paper pad but I thought it was designer papers.

Instead it is a pad full of the most beautiful Christmas designs - several on each page. I would not normally choose a pad like this but looking through it I see so many crafting opportunities.

I love making my own Christmas cards and tags but boy can it be time consuming. This pad is honestly so perfect to make all your cards in next to no time. There is such a lovely selection of sizes ready to be cut that the possibilities are endless. This is perfect if you have children too - get them making their own cards for their friends. I also think you could make boxes etc too with these sheets. They are adorable!

Another thing about Hunkdory is that you can join their online membership club for free. I didn't even realise this - you can get a FREE kit!!! All you have to do is pay for your postage. The kit that is currently available is A Beary Merry Christmas

I really hope you have enjoyed my thought on these products ..... I absolutely love them. Thankyou very much to Hunkdory for sending me these ..... I am very grateful.

Deck The Halls - LOTV DT

I hope you are all having a lovely Saturday ... half way through the weekend already. I have spent quite a bit of time in my craft room this week. In fact I think it is the longest I have spent crafting in years. I am so happy to be creating again.

Today I have a cute Christmas card for you all. It is one of my favourite christmas stamps from Lili of the Valley. In a recent post I shared colouring it so it is good to get it made into a card. The papers are from an old paper pad by Dovecraft called Christmas Fancy and I really do love the colours - a nice modern twist on Christmas.

I have added lots of stickles as snow flakes and also on the star and around the edge of the card - I had to give it a good shake and prick the hole with a pin to get it flowing again. I have also added some glossy accents to the baubles to create a bit of shine and dimension. My poor stash has been neglected for so long. At least I am starting to show some love to me stash at long last.

I found some pretty lace with ribbon running through it which I had completely forgotten all about. I think it works really nicely with the colours of the papers and adds a pretty touch. I have been so distracted looking through all my things. I have forgotten about so many things that I own.

    Challenges

I hope you have enjoyed my card today. Hopefully I will be back soon with another post and creation for you all.

I would love it if you could comment where you love to shop for your new stash. There are so many new sites now, I feel a bit lost.
Thankyou for taking the time to visit - see you all very soon

I am so happy to be back creating. I still need to refill a few of my copics but I am just going to do a few a month I think.

I have very kindly been sent the SENDING SYMPATHY stamp set that we all need in our collection .... for those moments when we need to let our nearest and dearest know that we are thinking of them in sad and difficult times.

I decided to try a different style card and I created an inked background using distress ink pads. I really loved how the background turned out so I think I need to invest in buying some pads for blending the ink onto my card.

After creating the background I stamped lots of the lovely foliage stamps along the bottom of the card to create a silhouette effect using Memento Ink. I used my stamping platform for the first time and it really made stamping so much easier.

I kept my card very simple with a flower embellishment and a few flat backed pearls. This stamp set is so versatile and I think you could stamp beautiful frames with the accessory stamps, I just love them so much.

Make sure you visit the other blogs to see what treats you can discover. Also check out Instagram and don’t forget to search these hashtags to make it even easier ... #STAMPtember #simonsaysstamp

Craft haul ... I've been shopping

Hi everyone, I have been shopping after sooooo long of not crafting. So much has changed!! There are new stores and new products!!!

I have to say that I am so happy that there are now stamping and die pouches - oh my, I cannot wait to start organising everything.

But the biggest thing to be invented for me so fay is the stamping platforms. Oh my goodness ...... what a complete game changer. What an amazing invention.

I was torn between the Misti and the Tim Holtz platforms. In the end I went for Tim Holtz. I really liked that you could use really large pieces of card if you want to plus the nifty lid is just genius. I haven't used it yet but I already know it is going to change how I stamp forever.

I have filmed my craft haul if you are interested to see what else I bought.

I'll be back soon with some new creations
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxx

My Copic Collection - getting organised

Happy Sunday everyone. It's another beautiful weekend in the UK - I hope you are managing to enjoy the nice weather.

I have been busy sorting my copic markers out in anticipation of my first colouring session and I discovered that there is now a hex chart available. I am so late to the game after being absent for so long but wow, I am completely blown away by this chart. It was created by Sandy Allnock and is available to purchase from her website.

What a difference it is going to make to my coluring. The way it is laid out will make pen selection for blending so much easier. I had great fun colouring the chart but I did have to start a few times because I coloured the wrong hex in by mistake - doh, lack of concentration lol.

It has also let me find which pens need refilling - this is going to be pricey - around £140 for the refills that I need but it will be an investment. I cant decide if I should just get all the refills I need straight away of ir I should get a few plus a few new shades .... decisions decision. My head says get the refills but my heart wants more pens lol.

Anyway, here is a little video I made about my pens and my chart ..... I hope you enjoy.

Thanks for taking the time to visit me xxx

    BIRTHDAY CARD FOR DAD

It’s so good to be back!! I am still in the middle of moving into my craft room but I desperately wanted to make a card for my Dad’s birthday. This proved a bit tricky with my stuff being all over, forgetting what I have and then the heat!! So last night I ventured into my room and attempted a card.

It is not my usual style at all but it felt so good to be crafting again. I really did not know what I wanted to make so I had a quick look on YouTube and found a card made by a lady called Georgie Burns. I really liked the simplicity of the design plus I knew I would be able to find supplies to be able to make it.

So much of my papers are probably out of date but I really do love this paper pad by Authentique – the colours are suited so well to masculine cards. I had to use a punch for the circles because I still cannot find my plates for my Cuttlebug but they will turn up soon I’m sure.

I have filmed making this card so if you are interested you can pop over to my channel and have a look – all feedback is very welcome. I can’t wait to get more creative and to get stamping and colouring with my Copics.
