Simon Says … Photo Inspiration

Hi there folks, almost finished my night shifts …. one more to do so so I am going to go and snuggle in bed for the day whilst you are all busy doing your work and crafting. I will have a few days off after this so looking forward to that :o)

This week on Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog we have a photo to inspire you. As soon as I saw it I knew which stamp I wanted to use. You can use it for inspiration in any way though – even using the colours if you want to.

02-11.11
As you can see though I have used poppies as my inspiration – I am developing a little crush on these House Mouse stamps and I think I might be ordering a few more in the future. They are so cute and really easy to colour too. I know my fellow teamie Lols has a bit of an addiction going on with these little guys and now I know why! I am also totally hooked on Kaiser Craft papers ….. You can’t really tell in this picture but the red paper is glazed. Their packs usually come with glazed, foiled and glittered papers and usually some die cut matching borders too – I love them big time!!!!

Anyone for Anya

Good morning ... sssssssssssshhhhhhh you need to keep the noise down a little because it was a very late night in the bar last night here in good old London town! The band did ever so well and finished 6th which is such a great result. So it will probably be a quiet trip back up to Yorkshire on the coach as we all catch up with our beauty sleep :o)
Onto this weeks challenge on Anyone for Anya and we would love to see ....

AUTUMN COLOURS

I have used my gorgeous new Laundry Anya from Dies to Die For and I love her. Isn't she so sweet - poor little thing looks so fed up! I should have brought her with me this weekend to have a little fun, lol. I have followed the sketch from this weeks Spoonfull of Sugar which is a beauty!

I will add all the details later when I get home - I am just impressed I have managed to get my post done this morning!! I have ended up paying silly money for connection in my hotel after being ripped off good and proper by BT Openhub - they shall be getting rather a firm email from me when I get home - I am not impressed with their robbing service at all!!!!! Hey ho! No rest for the wicked today - when we get home we have a couple of hourse tp relax then we are heading off to Xscape where Ryan and his 'singing' band are headlining at The Loft - so if you are in the area pop along :o)
Byeeeeeeeeeeee x

Just Magnolia - Mina's sketch

It is Friday and you know what that means ..... woohoo it is time for another challenge on Just Magnolia and we have a great sketch by our lovely Mina!

My colours were inspired by a card that Bev made earlier in the week, although Bev's were much softer colours I knew I wanted some greens and purples as my main colour combo for this card. I have been having a really good rummage through all my old paper packs and found these funky papers by Papermania - aren't they brilliant :o)

Isn't it funny how sometimes when you finish a card it reminds you of someone straight away. Sweet little Tilda reminds me so much of my sister when she was little. She has the most gorgeous auburn hair just like this little cutie. I might have to keep this card to send to her :o)
I am entering my card for this weeks challenge on PTW which is angels & fairies .... my fave!

Another pic just to show you the layers on my cards. There is also a closer look at the felt ribbon which has been sat in my ribbon box for an eternity - seemed like the perfect time to cut a piece of and use it!

Now for some news ...... sadly Naoual will be leaving us - I have loved working with you hun and wish you every success for the future .... make sure you join in sometimes and try your chances with the fab prizes! On a happy note Denise has agreed to stay on as full time DT member - I am so happy!!!!! Welcome aboard sweetie.

Dies to die for have just had a delivery of loads of Magnolia stamps so pop on over and have a little spend - you know you are worth it, lol .... go on :o)
Right then folks, I am heading off to work so I will catch you all later ....byeeeeeee! Ooooh don't forget .... it's the Big Brother final tonight .... who is gonna win?????

La-La Land - Stitching

Good morning, gee what a miserable day - it is so blustery and raining. A good day for crafting though and we have a really lovely challenge for you all to take part in this week on La-La Land Weekly Challenge ........
STITCHING

It can be real or faux, just let us see it somewhere on your creation. Remember you do not have to use a LLLC image but we would love it if you do. You can also combine challenges, so you have no excuse not to play.

I have used Rosie this week, Rosie with bird to be exact and you can buy her from the online store . I have created faux stitching around the edge of my image by pricking holes and then drawing lines between them with a fine marker. I have followed this weeks sketch on Create4fun that my good friend Bev made ... love it sweetie! I really like the bold colours, one day I will make lots of pale pastel coloured cards (do you believe me, lol ..... nah, me neither).

Full details of how to enter are on the weekly blog , you can also have a look at all the fab inspiration provided by the DT an GD.
Just off to get ready to meet a friend for lunch, has been ages since I saw her so will be lovely to catch up. It has been so busy at work recently and I promise to get round to you all this week at some time.
Have a lovely day xxx

Brand new challenge ...La-La Land Crafts - Flower Power

Good morning and it is an exciting day today because it is the very first weekly challenge for La-La Land Crafts . You really need to see the gorgeous new range of stamps that are now available to pre-order from their web shop , aren't they just so cute!!!

The first theme is a nice easy one ...... FLOWER POWER. Show us your flowers on your cards - they can be on your image, papers, punched or bought but we want to see them somewhere. We are happy for you to combine challenges too so that is great news for everyone too. The top 3 cards from this weeks challenge will win a button for their blog. The winner will receive a 25% discount for the online store . Plus .... everyone who enters this weeks challenge will be put in a draw to win a free Window Lala stamp !

I have used the gorgeous Birthday Lala stamp which was sent to me in my GD parcel (thanks Irina) and couldn't wait to ink her up. The stamps and packaging are a gorgeous quality and they stamp perfectly. As you can see I had no problems adding flowers to my card - you know how much I love them so this was a perfect challenge for me! I have used these delicious papers from Making Memories - they really are so pretty in real life that I hate cutting into them.

I am still getting used to my copics but how great is it that you can colour your pearls too .... so much fun! I followed the sketch from this weeks Sketch saturday and rotated it to make my image fit better. I am also entering it in this weeks Pollycraft challenge which is favourite things (need I remind you all how much I love flowers, lol). You can upload your cards to SCS using the keyword LLWWC1 , that way we can see everyones gorgeous creations in one place. Remeber to pop over to the blog to see all the gorgeous creations from the DT and GD's

PBSC/ My son on BBC Radio 2 / Singalong Saturday

Good morning my fellow bloggies and how are you all today? Looks as though we are in for a nice day so the washing is on the line and the next load is already on. I hope you all manage to squeeze a little crafting time in and come play with us on PBSC. The theme this week is fab ....... SWIRLS!

I have used this fab paper from Designer Extreme Volume II CD by Bearly Mine Designs and it is just perfect for this weeks challenge. I adore purples and lilacs so used this colourway through the whole card.

The swirls were punched with my EK success punch which I love!!!! Finishing it all off with some scrummy flowers and little gems from my stash.

Even an insert from me this week and why not ..... I used the Designer Inserts Extreme CD from BMD. So easy - just print, trim and stick .... perfect every time :o)
EDITED - I have had a few questions asking me if this is a new nestie - the answer is no - it is part of the insert design ... now isn't that clever!

-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-
First of all I would just like to tell you about my son (again .... sorry!). The brass band he plays with were on BBC Radio 2 last night so of course I have to share this with you. Here is the link to hear them play . You will need to move the start slider to 6 minutes .... the previous programme is on at the start of the i player
-x-x-x-

Time for another blast from the past .... turn up the volume girls and have a good old sing ...... enjoy
