Sketch # 37 by Katharina

Well, it is the last day of the year already and a brand new one is just around the corner. I know for many of you it has been a testing year, one which you will be glad to see gone. For me, I have had a mixed year - some good some bad. I did start blogging though and that has allowed to me to meet so many wonderful and inspiring people.

Today is also a sad day for me. 10 years ago my little boy, Michael, sadly died. I do not know where the years have gone but I still miss him terribly. I think that maybe next year I will try my hand at scrapbooking - I have so many photos and it will be something nice to do I think.

So, onto my card. I have had 'Daisy' by Sugar Nellie for a couple of weeks and was so happy to be able to use her at last. Katharina has provided this wonderful sketch to follow and Daisy fitted perfectly in the middle of it. As I was colouring her I was trying to work out if she was thinking, angry or sad - hard to tell but I love her and can't wait to use her again.

I would just like to say a big thankyou to you all for commenting on my blog this year and for being my friend. I wish you and your families lots of love for the New Year.

One card .... so many challenges!

Hi everyone, I hope you have all had a lovely christmas. I can't believe it is all over although there is New Year to see in first before we can all settle back into our routines again. I would like to thank all my lovely bloggie pals who sent me a card this year - thank you so much, they are gorgeous and I don't want to take them down :o)

It seems strange being back in my craft room after my little break of being good and spending time with my family and 'real' people, lol, but I have missed it so much. I can't wait to get crafting properly again ... with NO christmas cards (for a little while anyway).

Here is my simple card that I have made today. Easing me back in slowly, lol. I cannot believe that I forgot to give one of my neighbours a card at christmas so this will hopefully make up for it.

There are so many challenges at the moment that have a New Years theme that it would be plain wrong of me to ignore them so his little card manages all of these challenges ... A spoonfull of Sugar , Lili of the Valley , Cute Card Thursday (open theme) and finally Forever Friends

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Week 28

Good morning to you all, the last Saturday before christmas :o)

A huge thankyou once again to all of you who took part last week, it is such a busy time of year for many of us and we are delighted that you all play along.
This weeks challenge is

It is the last challenge of the year (yes .... we have been given next week off to recover from christmas) but we will be back on the 3rd January with a brand new challenge. This weeks winner will be drawn next week as usual.

The prize for this week is a fab cd from Funkyhand - generously donated by Santa :o) To be in with a chance of winning the prize be sure to leave a comment with a link to your work on the PBSC blog.

I decided to make a concertina card for this week. I have never made one before and it was ever so easy to do. I will need to try and remember to make one again instead of my usual square cards.

Finally I would like to wish each and every one of you a wonderful christmas and Happy New Year.

What a final - congratulations Alexandra!

Wow, whata show tonight. I still have goosebumps. I am over the moon that Alex won tonight. Her performance with Beyonce blew me away and I knew at that point she had won. For those who missed it or just want to see it again (and who wouldn't) here it is again!!!

Watch out for this young lady - she is going to take the world by storm!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Week 27 - Recipe ... 3...2...1

Good morning everyone, Saturday again and time for another challenge on PBSC .

I would like to thank you all who took part last week, it is such a busy time of year for us all so thanks for joining in and sharing your great creations. I am sorry I haven't visited you all last week, I just don't know where the time goes (and I have had a yucky virus too).

Anyway, onto this week and it is a great challenge. It is a recipe!!!!

3 flowers ... 2 papers ... 1 ribbon

You have the chance to win these fab stickeroos - aren't they brilliant!!! So come on, get creating and leave your comment on our blog for a chance to win.

Here is my card, which has a rather strange tinge of green over it - it is so hard to get a decent pic of anything at the moment ... come on sunshine - where are you, lol.

True to form I have another quite funky card - I just adore these colours this year. Was fab getting my flowers out - never seem to use them much over christmas but I think they have worked quite well. Of course I had to bling them up with a bit of stickles, hehehe ... well it is christmas!

Remember to check out this weeks cards by the DT for some inspiration - there is such a fab collection this week.

Right then girlies, I am off for some water - had rather a late night/early morning last night with a few too many drinkies. Well, it was my works party and it was all paid for. Enjoy your weekend, try to have fun whatever it is you do.

Tilda sat in the creative corner

Morning folks, Thursday already ... not long til the weekend - hang in there guys :o)

Time for another challenge, this time it is a sketch over on our creative corner . It seems to be the week for taking part in challenges that I haven't done in ages and I am loving visiting these old favourites again.

Another Magnolia card from me again - Tilda is just the sweetest little thing isn't she - I can't believe this beauty has been sat waiting to be inked up - slap my wrist for being so slow, lol. I love her though so better get a few more done before she gets packed away til next year.

Sorry for poor piccie, promise to take a new one when the sun shines later on. Please please santa bring me a daylight lamp ... I promise to be good :o)

Have a great day everyone -x-

ABC Challenge - U is for ......

UNDERNEATH!

Hi everyone, Wednesday again so that means another ABC Challenge . Thankyou to you all who entered last week, it was lovely visiting your blogs and looking at your creations.

So onto this weeks challenge, did you manage to guess that it would be underneath? It can be underneath anything at all, you can decided, but as I still need loads more christmas cards making I chose underneath the mistletoe :o)

How cute are these images - I adore the Magnolia stamps so much and savoured every minute colouring them. Actually, make that 2 hours!!! What was I doing to take that long? I have no idea but I got there in the end. I think I may give this card to my hubby ... and then I might sneak a kiss under some mistletoe too, lol, actually - I will have to buy some first and then get the kiss ... now I am rambling!

I hope you have fun with this weeks challenge - pop over to the other DT blogs if you get chance for some more info on how they made their cards.

Have a happy Wednesday!

Mistletoe and wine ....

No please stop ... no more singing to Cliff Richard, hahahahaha, it is not the song I am talking about but a challenge! This weeks challenge on This Thursday it's all about ..." is 'Mistletoe and Wine'. The choice is yours .... either use the colours associated with mistletoe and wine or you can actually use the title as your theme.

I have decided to use the colours for my theme - red, green and white. How cute is this little robin from Pink Petticoat , I love him - thanks to my good buddy who sent me this fab image. This was such a fun easy card to make but I adore it. I have kept it very simple, I tried adding bits here and there and it just didn't feel right so he is a lonely little robin (although he is hogging all the limelight to himself!!) lol.

If you want to see some mistletoe be sure you pop back tomorrow to see my DT card for this weeks ABC Challenge . Can you guess the theme yet??? See you all tomorrow when all will be revealed :o)

Lily and Billy make it twice as fun!

Morning everyone, the sun is still shining here but it is freezing cold outside. At least it looks nice when you look through the window :o)

I have managed another card which is for 2 challenges again this week. I am just loving these cute stamps by Pink Cat Studios - they are so much fun.

PCS are the sponsors of this weeks challenge by Sketch Saturday . I love sketches, they make me try new things for my card making that I might not have tried otherwise. My second challenge with this card is for Stamp Something - their theme is snow which means we should all be able to join in this week with all those christmas cards we are making!!!!

I am not sure if it shows that well but I cut out Lily and Billy and placed them on some white glitter card - it is so sparkly in real life and looks lovely. I also added some white crystal glitter to Lily's fur trim for a little extra dimension and sparkle - a girl needs a little bling (even when whizzing down a hill!!). I also blinged up the brads - they were white and far too boring for this card so I added some red and gold tinsel embossing powder to them - again they look much better in real life but hey ho :o)

Enjoy what is left of your weekend and have fun.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge # 26

Good morning, and what a beautiful sunny start to the weekend it is here. I hope it is glorious too where ever you may be.

Saturday again so that can only mean one thing ...... time again for the new challenge on Penny Black Saturday Challenge . Before I let you all know what this weeks challenge is I would like to thank you all for taking part last week - I was amazed by all the wonderful creations you made without patterned paper - who would have thought we could manage without our gorgeous papers :o)

We also have some sad news today too. The very talented Becky is having to leave us due to other committments. We are all sad to see her leave the DT but I am sure you will all wish her well for the future. Hope to see you taking part in the challenges hun (now you will be able to get your hands on all the fab prizes, lol).

So onto this weeks challenge. It is a sketch by the wonderful Beth . Isn't it a brill sketch!!! I love it, it is perfect for those large Penny Black stamps. The usual rules apply, you can flip it, rotate it etc but please don't move the basic elements of the sketch around - have fun with this one. Oh, and remember you must include at least one PB stamp somewhere on you creation.

This weeks prize has very kindly been donated by Becky. There are 3 sheets of sentiment stickers and also 3 sentiment stamps. Thankyou hun, this is a fab prize!!! One lucky winner will be picked by random generator next week so to be in with a chance get creating and leave your comment and link over on PBSC blog.

Sunglasses back on peeps, lol, yep I have made a bright one again (did soft pastels yesterday hahaha) but I have managed traditional colours this time :o) . This stamp fitted perfectly with the sketch as so many of the PB large stamps do - make sure you see the rest of the DT cards for inspiration, they are all amazing.

A big choccy thankyou to Mrs Wonka who sent me this fab image and scrummy papers - I love your brill package, thanks babe for thinking of me!
I am also entering this for this weeks challenge on Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge which is embossing. I have heat embossed and also used my good old faithful swiss dots folder (love it) so should do nicely for this challenge.

Have a happy Saturday everyone!

Dutch Dare with a bit of sugar!

Wow, is it Friday again already?? The week has flown by and I am still no closer to getting my christmas shopping done ... oh well, there is still time :o)

It is ages since I entered Dutch Dare Challenge but when I saw that you had to include a scalloped edge somewhere I knew I had no problem!

It is also ages since I used this little beauty from Sugar Nellie , isn't she adorable. After Emma had sent me some of these Laura Ashley papers I just had to go and buy the whole pack - I love them. My new flowers from Poppicrafts also arrived so I just had to open them too.
Another Friday night out in York for me and hubby so be good whilst I am out. Don't forget to check out this weeks challenge for Penny Black tomorrow morning, catch you all later :o)

ABC Challenge - T is for ......

THREES!!

Thankyou to everyone who entered last week - we are getting a great response to the challenges so give yourselves a huge pat on the back. If you entered the challenge a couple of weeks ago make sure you check the site later because the challenge winner did not make contact with us which means a new winner will be drawn.

This week on ABC we want to see 3's. So this can be 3 papers, embellishments in 3 etc .... you can even have 3 of something in your image if you want but this isn't compulsary.

I decided to use these 3 beautiful angels that my good friend Linda sent me a few weeks ago. They are so beautiful and will be a stamp I invest in I think. I have also used 3 papers - following sketch #27 on Sketch Saturday which is fantastic this week. Hope to see lots of you taking part, I know everyone is busy at this time of year but hopefully you will find a bit of time to make yet another christmas card off your list, lol. Have a wonderful Wednesday!!!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Week 25

Good morning, woohoo it is the weekend at last - that makes me a happy bunny after such a busy week at work. Thankyou so much to every single one of you who entered last weeks challenge, it was great seeing all those funky christmas cards. This week we have a real challenge for you ...

No patterned paper!!!

Oh no, I hear you scream, is it possible???? Well I can assure you it is!! You really must see all the Design Team's cards for some real inspiration - I was blown away by them, they are stunning.

This fabulous embellishment caddy is up for grabs for one lucky person who enters this week. Tracie has very kindly donated this prize that she bought from Poppicrafts, oooh I wish I could enter.

Now, here is what I made. It isn't a card as you can see. Luckily for me this challenge tied in perfectly with the retirement of one of my colleagues. It was her party last night, after 25 years of service, and we all had a page in a book to leave our comments and words of love and best wishes etc. I 'kidnapped' the book one evening last week and this was my page for Shirley.

Here she is when she was given it last night - she was delighted!! It was lovely reading everyone elses memories and funny stories. I am sure she will treasure it forever.

Here I am (on the right) in a very blurry pic taken last night (loving the verrrry soft focus - hides all those fine lines haha)

.... and me again with one of the other nurses and one of the fab GP's

Hope you enjoyed the tour, lol, have a fab weekend :o)
