Simon Says … Lemon and Lavender

 

 

Good morning, a glorious start to today with blue skies ….. and much more comfortable if you are working. I  have a day off though so it can be as warm as it likes….. and the good news is I am not back at work until July 11th … woop woop!!

Now then, here is my card for you for this weeks Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog. Our theme is lemon and lavendar and the design team are all using stamps by Penny Black. It is ages since I used a Penny Black stamp and I have gone for this vintage beauty!

Not like my usual style at all but I thought I would try something different … what do you think???

Papertake Weekly – It’s time for a sketch!

Hi there, ooh thank goodness for the rain last night - it was so muggy and it really feels better now the air is a little fresher! Not that I mind if it gets even cooler here in the UK because I shall be on my hols soon .... aahhhhh, nothing to do but relax ..... sounds good!!!!!

But until then I have the real world to contend with .... well a card to share at the very least. I think I am not making much sense but I know you are all used to me so I won't worry too much. It is sketch time on Papertake Weekly and we are sponsored by the fabulous Simon Says Stamp .... thanks Heidi!!!

Here is my card and oooh guess what ..... I have finally got me an image from Make it Crafty - I am officially in love!!!

OMG how cute is she ..... sweet 'Hula Girl' is just what we all need to get us in the holiday spirit ...... what a total joy to colour!

Here is a little close up - now you know I am in love if you get a close up .... don't look at my mistakes though ;o)

The fun fishy papers are from Tracy at Dies To Die For...... they are from the Beach Babe pack by Fancy Pants (how appropriate!!) and are just stunning papers.  The scrummy flower is from Simon Says Stamp and they are Prima Sugar Blooms

Music Saves My Soul

Morning, ooh what a busy day I have today -got lots of shopping for last minute things for my holidays .... I am really looking forward to chilling with Glen and enjoying some sunshine at last!!!!

and so onto my song for this week. I love this song and I think this version with Shaggy is great. Cyndi Lauper is another artist I didn't really care that much about at the time but who I appreciate now I am older..... does that ake sense lol?????

My wonderful news …. how did I keep it quiet for so long???

 

Oh my gosh, you know I said I was distracted earlier today …. well at last I can tell you why…… I got a very special shirt in the post today!!!  A couple of months ago I had a rather exciting email inviting me to go on a very special training event held by Crafter’s Companion. I couldn’t believe that I had been asked to be trained as an official, fully accredited demonstrator …… but nothing is quite as simple as that. We all know how proud Sara is of her company and quite rightly so. She has worked hard to gain the respect from her competitors, staff and customers and is known for bringing fab products and delivering high standards in both quality and customer service. So at the end of May, several of us crafty folks were locked away for 3 days and ate, drank, breathed and did everything Crafter’s Companion!!!!!

We were taken through every single product inside and out by the wonderful Leann, Sara and Claire (plus super fab CC Team) and had to learn everything about everything! We knew we would each have to do a dummy demonstration in front of Sara and Leann but we did not know on which product it would be– talk about nerve wracking!! We all wanted to impress them so much and pass ….. Sunday was a sleepless night!

Lots of note taking and practicing!

I had the most wonderful time and although it was totally shattering and we were worked until after midnight one night (so tired) I made some wonderful new friends. I can honestly say that when Sara says her company is a big family she really means it. We were all made so welcome and the is a real feel of warmth and belonging that I really cannot describe. I sound like a gushy woman but honestly, it has to be experienced to really appreciate how special Crafter’s Companion is.

Lili of the Valley - A Sketch

Cooeeeee, yes I am dashing again and got rather distracted at lunch (can hopefully tell you why later) so here is a super fast post for my LOTV card

Catching up - told you I would, lol. Ok, so this little beauty (ooh I do love her) is called Milly Just for You. She is a lovely size and fits perfectly in the round nestie. I fancied some nice bright papers and these are from the Candy Lane Collection by KaiserCraft .... yum yum!!! I have had the brads forever and I found them by accident whilst looking for something else - I can't believe how well they match - talk about luck!

Simon Says ….. A Sketch!!!!

Morning, sorry I am a little late this morning but a strange thing happened …… for the first time on a Wednesday in lord knows how long I managed a lay in – oooh that was nice but unexpected so I am now typing like a mad woman getting my post done.

On Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog this week we have a gorgeous sketch by our equally gorgeous Jane. I have to say I think it is one of the nicest sketches I have used in a long time – thanks hun for the inspiration!!

For once I am really pleased with my card. It came together really easily – isn’t it a joy when that happens!! I usually spend a few hours shuffling embellies around etc so it was a welcome change to make a card in just a couple of hours!

As always we have a fabulous prize for one lucky person this week …. Thanks so much Heidi.

Music Saves My Soul

Hi everyone, hope you are all having a nice strat to your weekend. Thanks so much to all of you who take the time to leave me comments, I appreciate it so much - I am so sorry I have not been back to so many of you - I just have no time at the moment and I feel like a bad blogger.

But .... at least I have managed to get Music Saves My Soul up today which is a bit better than last week, lol.

I was going to play a few different songs today but I ended up with this - one of my all time favourites. Mary J Blige is just incredible!!!

You know I can't leave without sharing the new Lady Gaga video with you all aswell, lol. Not as big a production as Judas but who cares, Gaga is just amazing and I love her ...... did you know that already haha???

I thought she was great on the Paul O'Grady show - the 2 of them looked as though they both really enjoyed the show. Lili of the Valley - Bring on the Music

Howdy doody guys, how's your day so far??? I am busy stuffing my lunch down my neck and trying to type at the same time - not a pretty sight but necessary lol.

So have you all managed to get your new girly stamps from LOTV???? I know that lots of you have ...... especially my lovely furry friend ..... enjoy those beauties Squirrel (she isn't really furry)

Our challenge on Lili of the Valley Challenge blog is Bring on the Music. It can be anything you like, a song, nursery rhyme or even just some printed musical notes on your creation.

I have used one of the gorgeous new stamps - Milly Me and my Dog, she is so adorable!!! My theme is the song 'Puppy Love' ahhhhhhhhhhhh how cute! I have also used the very pretty corner addition stamp and one of the brill sentiment stamps!!


The yummy sparkly papers are from the gorgeous Tracy at Dies to Die For and are Bird Song from First Edition - scrummy or what!!!

Good morning, wow is it Wednesday already??? Who fancies a little game of bingo? Hi my lovely friends – well it is another mad day in the world of Marcea …… work all day, just finished having my hair cut and coloured and I realised that I didn’t post todays card … OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! Another snowman peek

Hi there, ooh it is a bit late – think I am going to jump in a lovely bubble bath in a minute then pop into my jim jams ….. spot of commenting and then BED!!!!!

So here is my next sneak peek of the super new release by Crafter’s Companion ….. The Snowman – which is going to be launched on Ideal World tomorrow at 9pm.

This card has been made using one of the gorgeous scene images finished with a stamped image …. all sprayed within an inch of it’s life with Spray and Sparkle …. talk about a quick and easy card!  Remember to keep checking the news and inspiration blog for other cards and info about the launch
