Need your help please

Hi there, just after your help please. I am looking at buying a new lamp with a magnifier glass on it. I have been to the opticians today and he is really worried about my eyes. I need to go back next week for a review and then he may need to refer me to the specialist at the hospital. My vision is really poor at the moment and has dramatically reduced and we are not sure why. I can't bare not to be able to craft but at present I am struggling to focus clearly. Any advice on models etc would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance ... mwah xxx

Hi marcea, i have seen one on Create & Craft before as i was looking to buy a lamp for working in the dark winter nights to ensure my colours were right. However when i started looking i saw the ones with magnifiers on and i think i'm going to go for one of these now as my vision is blurry for close up stuff. Although i just haven't got round to buying one yet. Maybe go on the C&C website but i know there are lots of places online. I think i saw on one of mariannes posts she tested a lamp but don't know if it had a magnifier on it. sorry not to be of more help and i hope they get your eyes sorted.

Awww bless you sweetie I am so sorry that your sight is not that good at the moment. Perhaps the Eyedoctor can tell you where you can get a magnifier. My mom is a pedicure and she has one, perhaps you can find a good one in a store for pedicures or beautission products? I bet there are special stores like that. My mom got it from a store where they sell these kind of products. Healing hugs are coming your way sweetie. Hugs Terry xxxx

Sorry to hear your eyes aren't good, I've had recent problems myself so know how stressful it can be. For me, it has to be an Ottlite, which I know they sell with magnifiers too. I find this light to be the best ever and really helps me with my focus as the light is so good. Take care Zo xx

Oh babes, sorry to hear you are going through this stress! Being a terribly short-sighted squirrel (hard to find your nuts when you can't see well) I can sympathise. I've got a really old magnifying lamp that I inherited years ago - it weighs a ton and it's not a daylight one so I rarely use it now - but I reckon you will find one on the Daylight Company site. Hope the doc can get to the bottom of the problem. Hugest of hugs, Sxx

HI Marcea, that is really alarming news. You must be so worried. About the lights, I have bought several of the same type and the're brilliant, but I bought them here in the Netherlands, so I don't know it they will be much use to you. Just let me know when you would like to hear more. Hugs, Frea

Hi Marcea, the daylight company do a fab floor standing lamp with a magnifying glass attached but they are very expensive, if you don't think that you could stretch to their prices you could always try ebay to find a cheaper alternative.

Hi Marcea,

Have you thought about having a word with a fellow crafter Paula Holifield as she is on the DT for crafters Companion but also a registered optician. I am sure that she can be of help. Lots of love and best wishes for a positive outcome. Cathy Rumball x
