Mega combo ...... with a little bit of pixie help (and a lovely friend too)!

So here I am, back again .... had a lovely cuppa and natter to my mum and so now raring to go again. All I had to do to this card today was stick a few bits together because I virtually finished it yesterday. A very lovely frined of mine sent me this gorgeous image along with a whole stack more and also a fabulous goody bag of my favourite things - flowers, ribbons etc. Thankyou so much sweetie, you really touched me with your kindness and brought a huge smile to my face!

It would have been plain rude not to start playing straight away so that is just what I did! Now here is the good bit ..... wait til you see how many challenges I got out of this one .... a new record for me I think!!!!!

La-La Land Crafts - Embellish it

Good afternoon - I am shattered! I have had my first day at university in just over 6 years! I got the train this morning (very civilised compared to facing the M62) and I arrived fairly relaxed. Nice easy bit today - form filling and enrolling but my head is still banging - looking forward to getting stuck into my course. There is a lot of work involved because I am studying at Honours level, including lots if self directed study, so only time will tell what sort of impact it will have on my crafting time. What I am sure of though is that my studies will have to take priority over everything ... oooh I hope I manage to fit everything in!

So here is todays offering ...... my card for this weeks La La Land and the theme is ..... EMBELLISH IT!! This card nearly gave me a heart attack because I sentt it off to Irina and she mailed me back saying I had made a card for next weeks challenge instead of this one ....aarrgghhhh. Panic panic, lol ..... luckily managed to change a bit here and there and rescued it .... phew! I have followed the sketch on Sketch and Stash - my neglected stash are these beautiful papers, I stroke them far too much instead of using them, lol.

Right, I almost have another card finished so I may be back later today - have a good one!

Chasing my tail - PBSC / Anyone for Anya / Singalong / An award!

Hi everyone, well here I am after a flying visit to Birmingham for the British Open. Well, the band played well but as these things go were not good enough and had a disappointing result .... tough at the top but that's banding for you. It is the hardest contest of the season and only has the best bands competing so was never going to be easy. We had a fab time though .... the weather was glorious and there was a music arts festival on so it was just bustling! Nice to be home though. .



Somehow I didn't tell Mr Blogger I needed this card up yesterday so here it is ..... better late than never! We have a great sketch for you all to follow on PBSC . I am not happy with this card but hey, you can't like them all can you, lol.

Just Magnolia - Embossing

Hi, how are you all .... glad it is almost the weekend if you are like me .... phew I am exhausted this week! We have a great challenge for you this week to play along with ...

EMBOSSING

I have used one of my new stamps from the fall kit, I swear Tilda gets cuter with each new release! A very simple card from me today - no papers, OMG!!!!!! The gorgeous embossed card is too pretty to cover up, this is another beauty that Tracy from Dies to die For sent me.





I have embossed the main image with me labels nesties using 2 different sizes - I first saw this done on a card by the ever so sweet Kim and just loved the effect .... so pretty.
The colours I have picked also tie in with this weeks colours on Roses on Paper which are lavender, soft blue and cream.
Just a little note to pass on my thoughts to all of you who were affected by the terrible events of 9-11, my heart goes out to you all and I just want you to know I will be thinking of you on this sad day.
I hope you have a lovely day - we are all heading off to Birmingham after work because Ryan is competeing in the British Open tomorrow .... keep your fingers crossed :o)

Lili of the Valley - Colour Challenge

Good morning to you all, what a gorgeous day it is again .... so lovely to have this sunshine! We need to have on to summer whilst we can because we already thinking about autumn this week on LOTV with our colour challenge ......

La-La Land Crafts - Distressing

Hello everyone, well can you believe it is time again for another challenge on La-La Land Crafts and this one might make you shudder if you are as chicken as I am ......

DISTRESSING!



The very word makes me break out into a cold sweat. I am afraid I could not bring myself to rip up my papers, I just can't do it so instead I have chosen some distressed looking papers. But ..... to try and redeem myself I have made this rather lovely flower following a tut by my gorgeous buddy Rach and it can be found here . Imagine having to punch your papers and then having to crumple them up - OMG I think I need to have 5 minutes in a darkened room to compose myself, lol.
The stamp I used is Rosie with Bird (minus the little birdie ... oops, sorry!





A closer look at my distressed flower ..... I am still trying to recover from the experience but should hopefully be fully recovered by next week!!!!!
